I'm not a fan of Fajardo, but he did get them to the Western Final in 2019 and 2021, coming in first in 2019 and defeating the Stamps in the WF last season, so you have to give him some credit for those accomplishments.  On the whole I think this season's poor showing can be attributed to a total team failure.

Western semi-final win last year. They lost to the blue in the western final

Could we see a WPG / HAM GC once again?!?!?   :o
Never go full Rider!

Avery could be the Blue Bombers will frothing a the mouth for that last loss in the regular season. Evans, other than that BB game, has not shown Me anything Deemed a threat. TO and Montreal do not scare me at all either.

I would hate that, tbh.

Give me Toronto or Montreal.

Harris probably plays if they make it to the GC.

Think the east is a total crapshoot. Any of the three could come out of there.

I would prefer something different if given the choice, and they really don't look like they belong this year.

Bombers have never met Montreal in the grey cup. Those odds must be very long for that to have never for happened for 100+ years.

That's because whenever Montreal had a good team we seemed to be part of the east.

Waffler

I would want Montreal simply because I can't imagine losing to them twice in a row. Hamilton will carry the revenge factor and play over their heads. TO .. well... you never know what you will get.  Still, we have to get there first for it to matter.

Is that because those are the plays Maas calls?  Or those are the Rec's that are open?  Or that's all the time his Oline allows him?

So much of a QB play is based on what happens around him.  I agree, he has some accountability, but he's been sacked so many times this year, you have to wonder why...

He's not a horrible starting QB... and someone will offer him starting money.  Not elite money, but probably the 8th highest contract in the league, with incentives.  And *if* SSK misses the playoffs and purges the front office / coaches, he could be back in Green...

""Cody has always been the definition of a team player, and this is just another example of that," Roughriders vice-president of football operations Jeremy O'Day said in a release. "His leadership both on and off the field has been a large part of our success, and we appreciate his team-first mentality as we head into the 2022 season.""

No, he is an objectively inaccurate quarterback outside of the 10 - 15 yards.  He is fine with the short passes and when his receivers are catching the ball in a stationary position.  He is mostly terrible at anything else.

Fajardo can't read a defense to save his life and once his first option isn't available he panics and runs around like a chicken with its head cut off.  He causes a decent portion of those sacks himself, probably like 25% at least.

I don?t get the move to sit fajardo. Riders win out and Ticats lose, they get th cross over. They lose today they re out. Why are they sitting their #1 Qb on the most important game of the year??

blueandgoldguy

That's how much faith they have lost in him.  They would rather start an unproven QB than go with a known commodity - one that can't read a defense to save his life.

For those interested, check out the following video of Cody causing his own sacks:

In the first video link, Cody causes his own sack at the 4:40 mark and I think even at the 6:40 mark he causes his own sack as a decent Qb would have stepped up in the pocket after evading the rush and thrown the ball.

This is just one example.

A flash in the pan qb maybe. Remember BC qb Jonathan Jennings? Went way downhill after his first year or two.

Think there is many issues in Sask. royally went downhill around mid season.
