Winnipeg Blue Bombers to host Western Final November 13th 

Bombers have clinched first place in the West Division in consecutive seasons for the first time since 1961-1962

WINNIPEG, MB., October 8, 2022 - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have clinched top spot in the CFL's West Division and will host the divisional final on Sunday, November 13th at IG Field.

The Blue Bombers victory over the Edmonton Elks Saturday night secured first place in the West Division with two games remaining in the regular season. The win improved the Bombers to 14-2 and means the Western Final will be held at IG Field on Sunday, November 13th at 3:30 p.m. CT.

Tickets for the Western Final will first be available to season ticket and flex pack members who wish to purchase additional tickets starting Tuesday, October 11th at 10:00 am, followed by exclusive offer code pre-sales. The general public on-sale is set for Friday, October 14th at 10 a.m. Tickets will be available for purchase here.

The Bombers will face the winner of the Western Semi-final, held Sunday, November 6th at the site of the second-place finisher in the West Division. The Western Final winner will advance to the 109th Grey Cup, held Sunday November 20th at Mosaic Stadium in Regina.

This team is unbelievable.

I think if you are even marginally interested in football you will want to be there. This sort of thing does not happen often and people will want to experience it in person.

Awesome.  Glad we STH get early dibbs on tix.  Bugging all my friends now to see who I can convince to come freeze for a worth cause.

I know I should be careful what I wish for, but I really want to face BC in WDF.  In any event we are facing a rookie-ish (Rourke, Maier) or bad-tempered hot/cold (VAJ) QB.  Rourke may be the next Flutie, but he's not Flutie yet.  Hall will do just like he did early this season.

CGY has the better D, and far better coaching/scheme.  Against CGY it'll be a low/mid scoring grinder.  Against BC we can barnstorm, and take our chances seeing if we can tamp Rourke down.

I don't see how we don't sell out this game.

Still a month away....it will likely be much colder than BC Place or perhaps Calgary.   My money is on a Bomber/Stamp Western final and we can expect a barn burner of a game to heat IGF up!   Though we will still likely be favoured to win it's likely going to be an epic battle as both teams have great offence and defence schemes.    Zach has experience on his side however I'm expecting Maier to give him a good run for his MOP money!    The weather won't be an advantage for either team and I only hope it's not played in a snowstorm.   With climate change nothing is guaranteed and just about anything is possible....well, short of a thunderstorm!

Put me in the can't make it and extremely mad about it crowd.  I'll be in Maui.  We always go this time of year but have missed going because of Covid.  I'll stream it down there but boy or boy I'll miss the crowd and game day experience.  They actually play the Grey Cup down their in the bars!

The schedule on the CFL.CA site still show's the finals as team unknown and stadium unknown...

At the moment the Stamps are better than the Lions due to injuries at the QB position. I think I'd rather face the Lions in the WDF because I think they will have more problems with cold weather than the Stamps.

OTOH I don't like the idea of playing the Lions 3 times in a row!!! Whether we win or lose the last 2 regular season games, that's a problem for me.

So maybe the Stamps are the better option? Flip a coin and just hope we're healthy going into the WDF.

I think it's a function of winning too much and the bigger-than-usual crowds which include a lot of "lite" fans.  If the wave is the price we pay for bringing in new fan blood (and $$ for WFC), I'm all for it!    We're always debating how to get new CFL blood to fill the stands, and here we are.
