Jones places a strong emphasis on discipline? News to me. The Riders discipline problems started with him, and continued on after he left. He is the one that brought in questionable character guys like Ed Gainey, Nick Marshall, Duron Carter etc, and allowed them to run rampant throught the dressing room.

It's one thing to mouth off but intentionally injuring other players is at another level.

Disagree.  Temper and behavioural issues demonstrate a lack of discipline and control and are detrimental to the player with potential to spread to other team members.  There could be an argument made this behaviour is already costing the Riders wins. Same sentiment applies to Marino.

I am with modadmin plus he was dropping the ball more than enough when playing this year as well. The guy is an absolute cancer. He IS overrated this year!

A Rec losing his mind and attacking another player is a giggle.  A 300lb DT doing so, nothing to laugh at. 

Duke has his place on the Riders for sure.  He is a legit top talent, when he is on his game.  Does Maas have the skills to max his potential?  Does Dickenson have the skills to keep him in check?

Dickenson says that they released Marino because he was becoming a distraction.Talk about a day late and a dollar short. It doesnt even address the other discipline issues as all it says that if your suspended, fined and blacklisted from the league then we may address the issue

Duke used to have NFL talent.  He hasn't done squat since coming back.  He's way underproducing for his salary and hype.  Give me Schoen or Lawler or Demski any day over Duke.

The dude gets escorted off the field by trainers on every diving (missed) catch... like 3 by my count now.  He never catches them either, then just plays hurt to avoid criticism.

My opinion is he's washed up.  Maybe fine as a 3rd read or something, but not worth more than $130k/year.  I'd be surprised if he makes one highlight catch a season.  Once you subtract all of his penalty yards, he's probably a net negative.  To think we once were drooling over the prospect of him in blue & gold...

Totally agree. When you look at his game as a whole (including penalties & off field stuff), Duke can't be your top guy. But if you look at the raw physical talent he is one of the top in the league. So I understand keeping him and not Marino.

I would also take all those guys you mentioned on our team, but for the Riders, I think a healthy Duke is their "wild-card" and they need him to win games for them. He may lose games for them as well, but it's their best shot
