Insane that he (Marino) got fined on his first game back!

The refs IMO screwed up and that should have also been a major penalty and a game misconduct warning. Very interested to see how he does against BC, if he continues in his ways, all indications are he will. Heck IF Lucky didn't duck so quickly would he have knocked him out and been fined/penalized for that also? Then could/would the league suspend him again for aggregate fines, based on his history? An interesting story line that the Riders org, seems to be ok with, bad publicity doesn't seem to phase them this season.....

At any rate the LD, and BJB are always hard hitting emotionally charged games and I expect no different this year.

Lucky ducked at the right time. You're right that if that didn't happen, he may have been injured and Marino could have been tossed, fined and suspended again.

I'm expecting controversy like the dust up in the endzone lastyear. Rider fans were butthurt about that for awhile!

Lets look at what the Riders are made from.

Offence;
OL........swiss cheese, can not pass block
QB.......Poor arm over 10 yards, can not run due to knee injury, knee in brace
RB.......#1 RB Morrow out with injury, back up really untested and green
Rec.......Duke out with injured hip, other Rec barely passible

Defense;

One of the better D Teams in the league,  good pass rush, tough to run against. Seem to be at full strength,  Forgot coaches.  DC very good., others less then adequate.

Special Teamers.

Inconsistent,  Some Return games very good, punting and FG kicking good to very good.

Over All.  A team that will have trouble making  the playoffs.  We should not have any problems winning all 3 games.  My football fan opinion only.  Take it for what it is worth.

No idea. He should've been released by the Riders ages ago but they apparently prefer to employ garbage instead.

Who said he got a minimum fine? It could have been a maximum find just as easily. That's a half game check.

I see. Blame it on the CFLPA for limiting what the league can do in these instances.  Even with that said it has to be accumulating in the minds of refs and the league overall. The refs should be really paying attention to what he does going forward. We'll see what he does against the Lions tomorrow.

The Riders also suffer when a player takes unnecessary penalties. He didn't get one for that hit, but it's a safe bet he'll be getting one in the future. It's in his nature to go over the line.

SSK chart for today's game shows 4 NAT OL.  Have they played that all season?  I thought they were doing standard 3 NAT OL.  You'd think if your OL was as bad as theirs, you'd go the opposite direction and got 4 IMP like BC has done...

That said, I think SSK tries extra hard for a win tonight.  They know they will lose all 3 to WPG, and they can't go so many weeks without a win.  They have to pull it out tonight against Nobody-O'Connor or even EDM might catch up to them 

Oh ya, SSK seems to be starting 9 NATs?  What's up with that... Is their GM incompetent?  Riderfans forum getting restless...

Don't read much into the SSK win.  I knew BC would be eminently beatable without Rourke.  Rourke is 75% of that team.  Even the BC D isn't that great without Rourke keeping them off the field.

Anyhow, SSK got some mojo back and they are feeling confident going into the LDC.  This game will be awesome for film study.

Clearly the key will be stopping Hickson.  I think we should be able to.  He's faster than Carey but not as shifty.  SSK OL will hold a lot, but I think we can plan around Hickson by playing tighter to the box, kind of like we've been doing already.

Cody has dialled in the deep ball a little better, but he's still iffy.  INTs on the underthrows will be key.  Hopefully Hallett will be free roaming sometimes (instead of just run stop), and if he reads it right he might be able to trade the over/under with the man DB and we get INTs on under or over-throws.

I think we still beat them easily, but it'll be a much closer game than if SSK had another demoralizing loss vs BC.  That means it should be great fun!!

Interesting that they won and still gave up 7 sacks with that OL.

I think the BC D was exhausted by the 4th Q with so many 2 and outs earlier in the game and that's when Fajardo started completing passes downfield, not worried he can accomplish anything against the Bombers.

The most important are play to win, we play them three times, play hard, OL and RB need to protect, and if they play dirty I think it deserves a total team response.

#92 Marino should not be given chance for cheap shot.  He is a hot head.  Put a bullseye on him and take every legal shot you can.
