Not sure about your logic as Brady wasn't exactly burning up the league in his first 3-4 games however he now leads the CFL in rushing.   What I saw of Hickson he looked pretty darned good last game regardless of how many BC linemen went down..    At least the Riders don't have a dual running threat like Calgary has so if we can shut him down or minimize his impact, I agree we can go all out for Cody.

The difference is Oliveria has put together several good games in a row. He also played well in relief of Harris in 2021.  Hickson has not done that yet.

Riders put up 485 yards against the Lions. It was downhill for them after losing O'Conner and TJ Lee among others.

Adam Bighill was very limited for the second straight day Thursday at #Bombers practice due to a shoulder injury. With Malik Clements also out, it was Shayne Gauthier, Jesse Briggs, Les Maruo and Tanner Cadwallader getting most of the reps at MLB and WLB. #CFL

The shoulder injury would line up with those missed tackles last game.
Of those options I'd like to see Gauthier and Cadwalleder start the game!

Well Briggs at WIL was something I thought would happen with Clements nicked. OTOH possibly losing Bighill for this game would be more of a problem.

If they do start Briggs and Gautier, we might run with 10 national starters!

I gotta mention Rough Rider fans are real classless on there forum over there. Saying we are bandwagon jumpers and that there were hardly no fans in the stands during the weak years. This as we all know is completely false just look our attendance numbers when we sucked. It would be -15 and a losing record and we would still get 24,000+ in the stands.

There new barn looks half empty even this year! Look in the mirror rider fans.

They naturally put of the 52-0 Tim Burke year game lol. Someone who is a member on there should post the last LDC game at old Mosaic in 2016! There was a barn burner!
I LOSHT MY MEMBER IN AN UNFORTUNATE SHMELTING ACCSHIDENT!

Big loss if it happens...just give them the win and take another bye week - no injuries then...can you imagine if a team did that??

The irony of greenies who used to rip on us fans with the 1990 jokes holding onto a pretty meaningless game from ten years ago is priceless. But self-awareness isn't not a strong suit for them, so it is what it is. That forum is basically a derelict outhouse.

Remind me again what happened only a year ago... ;D

Could be. Both have significant time with the Bombers. Above average players but not as fast as those being replaced if that happens. It will impact the overall defensive strategy which is already dealing with losing Houston.

I'd expect we'll see some rotation with Maruo, Cole and Cadwallader into the positions of LB. Could even see more use of 34 defences to confuse the Rider OL?

Lots of roster changes probably coming this week. If Bighill, Clements might be going to IR and almost certainly Houston will be out. Several Canadians ( 2 -4 ) might be coming off of IR lists, but which is still in doubt.

Appears to be about 6 players changing for this weeks game roster.

Holy crap, the import LB depth is so depleted a trade may be the quickest route to getting back to stable ground, without Bighill, Wilson or Clement things could unravel fast, even against the low-life Riders.  Off hand I can't think of a team with extra LB's kicking around, but Sask. may have a few hidden in the depths of their roster, and of course the Argos are always a favourite trading partner.

3rdand1.5

The reality of this game even more than any other is who wins the trenches.

Sask is very, very good in the front 7 on defence, and very weak along the o-line.

Wpg is very good on the ends , but much weaker in the middle of the D-line, and with injuries are not even close to putting the same kind of talent in at LB that the Riders will field. However are much stronger on the O-line

Cody is limited in mobility with his knee, but Hickson looked quick and Sask should be able to run against a very depleted LB corpse. Everyone knows if you keep Cody in the pocket and force him to beat you with his arm as a pocket passer he most often can't.

So question 1 is can WPG's front 7 force Sask. to abandon the run game... that may be a tall ask especially if Biggie is out
Question 2 is can WPG's O-line keep Zach clean and can Brady establish a run game....a tall task against that Rider front 7, but a healthy Brady running downhill angry IMO is the right back to try... is he healthy enough?

I believe the biggest factor in determining this game is can our front 7 on defence keep Cody in the pocket, and take away enough of the run game to force Cody to try and beat us from the pocket with his arm.....IMO if they can I don't believe Cody is a good enough QB to sit in the pocket and beat this team with his arm....
