Blue Bombers and Fans

Just to be clear, air horns are NOT allowed in IG Field.

A full house, loud and proud fans are all that is needed to intimidate the opposition.

So, fill the seats, come with a strong voice and the team will do the rest!

10 and 0 sounds pretty good to me!

I was at the game. It wasn't just poor location by the tsn mic. I was across the field and it was so loud I was unable to talk to the person next to me as it was going in. I actually thought it was being blasted through the facility speakers it was so loud. Certainly would have impacted the huddles for our players.

But that's the entire purpose of the horns--- to disrupt the huddle.of the opposition. Aside from the obvious annoyance factor of these things, what was the impact on the hearing from those.adjacent to.the moron pumping the horn?? 2 hours of noise above 120 db will result in at least temporary hearing loss. This is.a public health issue and i.am.surprised the guy wasn't punched out

I really wondered if it was pumped in too.  The noise was almost constant the whole game. It sounded like it came from a single source, and they showed the coupl who had horns, but that couldn't have broadcast across the whole stadium could it?

Whatever it was, it was bush. Anyone with any ideas of doing the same, give your head a shake. Be loud the WPG way.

Certainly the purpose of it, and it would have worked.  It's one thing to have home field advantage because of loud fans, it's another to have it because you bring in external sources.  Those should never be allowed.

That being said, the fans in Montreal were fantastic, warm and welcoming. Nothing but good things to say about everyone who wasn't using an air horn.

Ya, I know.  But the problem with MTL is no one is defining "air horns".  They used to be horns attached to compressed air cans.  MTL fans are getting around this with hand-pumped air into the same type of horns.  The result is the same but requires a little work by the fan; albeit with an unlimited air supply.

Step 1 here is the CFL and the stadium clearly defining "air horns" to include the hand-pumped variety.  Then just enforce the rules.

BUT... will mouth-blown horns get sucked into this as well... how do you define "horns" carefully enough to exclude blown horns.  Technically they are all "air horns".  I don't have any horns, but many Bomber fans I've sat beside like their blue horns, and the low noise they make is not offensive, nor does it carry over all the other din.

And I also still wonder: WHY NOW (in MTL)?  This horn thing has been a TV annoyance for years.  I think it was last year we got to actually see one on screen with someone pumping it.  That's when I realized it was hand-pumped.

Why weren't there twatter threads about this last year?

I'm happy it's coming up.  I just wonder what took the world so long.
