So some on the rider forum are saying, well this was predictable because of the short week and travel. Ha Ha Ha Ha.

Well, the Riders are a lot better team than they showed last night. The schedule was a contributing factor without question. However, the protection issues are a real concern as was Fajardo's decision making (likely because of pressure to some extent).

Disagree, they are not as good as advertised. Played 2 very week teams prior to last night. That Defense is overrated and was exploited last night. Their Oline is atrocious and Farjardo will not last the season. That D better hold up as their offense is weak and won?t be scoring many points. I would bet if they had played Ottawa like us they would have been shredded.

The Stubblejumper's OL is brutal, and Dookie Williams dropped a couple of easy balls.  I think Rogers has literally half of his team's penalties on Offense.  The Rider's GM needs to airlift in an entire OL or Fajardo is gonna be on the 6-game sooner than later.

Mtrl contained Fajardo in the pocket and also got pressure to collapse the pocket. Fajardo is a really good QB when he can move around, but making him a pure pocket passer he struggles. Couple Mtrl's very good game plan and pressure on him with Evans getting hurt and taking away his best deep target led to what we saw a mediocre QB performance from him.

Duke also had a poor game by Duke's standards, he is still a very good receiver so I expect he will bounce back next week.

Sask yet again killed themselves with penalties, if the theme continues then they will struggle all year, how many D-line offsides did the have 7ish...that is completely unacceptable

I still think Sask. is a very good team, but IF you can contain Fajardo and collapse the pocket on him he is average at best, and the penalties are killing them. IF they clean up the penalties and Mass can get a game plan that works for Fajardo when he can't move the pocket, they will be a contender. (I am still waiting for D-lineman to be purposefully patient waiting outside the pocket for when he does his patented fake right roll left move to light him up)

The question for Sask. is can those improvements happen?

And yes Mtrl. looks way better with Harris in....at least so far

Nothing like watching the Riders get whomped...

Good on the Als, they are doing good work promoting the league and deserved better last week.  This doesn't "make up for it", but it does move them up the power rankings...

In the Als game as well as when they played the Elks  :Fajardo is getting hit regularly ,,even more so than last year, reminds me of Riley in BC.
I also don't thinks hes moving as well ty ...a bad combination. If that oline doesnt get any better or they don't given him added block protection from the rb he won't last the season.

O'Day has had 3 years to rebuild the O-line and the results are evident, I think his biggest mistake was sticking with Dan Clark and using him as the keystone to build the O-line around.

Have to wonder how much they were expecting LaBatte to return.

They have drafted a lot of NAT Oline... at least one or two a year...

Looking across the league and even at our own..O-line play has not been great. O-lineman seem to be in short supply league wide, and in 10 days three starting centers are now out compounding it.

When you get sacked six times in the first half you know that the Swiss cheese Oline stinks more then ever.  I thought that they would end up in 3rd place but now with the emergence of the BC Lions I am not certain that the Riders will make the playoffs.

Remember that it took the Riders, in their first games, Last minute wins even though they controlled the play with their defense.  I do not think we have much to worry about here when we play them.

Agree and I won't be upset if they aren't good but you also shouldn't really judge a team too much on one practice and the shortest rest week of the year on their calendar.

They looked terrible but there are mitigating circumstances.
