Not a good time out there right now. City streets are in terrible condition. In the past curb lane pot holes are normal, but in the center lane on Portage Ave. Crazy. Gas prices just jumped up 10-15 cents, and it seems like it's flooding everywhere right now. Very hard times for a lot of people right now. Our food bank has never been this low on supplies as we are getting a record number of people every day.

A thread to gripe about streets?  Dangerous.  Count me in!  They have never been so bad.  Streets like far-west Portage they resurfaced just last year are all torn up.  How is such shoddy work tolerated?  Same with parts of the perimeter.  0-2 year old resurfacing all broken.  I have never really seen such poor quality work in my lifetime.  Does the city hold the contractors responsible??

Bombed out holes in all lanes that eat cars.  My wife destroyed a very very expensive tire and wheel in one of those.  Holes are still there weeks later.  MPI says (to my wife) they've never seen anything like it with the quantity of hole damage calls.

The street neglect has reached epic proportions.

Brady O and Shai Ross from EE, pickup dogs in flooded areas in the North. Nice.

Even after they "fix" them, it's horrendous.

Have you seen the machine go around? Drops some hot tar and moves on. The road is in worse condition than ever, but the physical hole is filled, I guess.

Was sand banging at a friends place last night just south of the city. Lots of people showing up to help, nice to see.

I did.  Just 1, off Portage on side street, no wind that day and the dust cloud following this thing was like a mega-sized Pigpen.  Hope those things have good air filters (for both engine and driver).

Street in front of my work has signs up for Monday (for what I'm assuming is street cleaning).

Big shout out to Isaac Brock School who picked up 200 bags of garbage yesterday. Nice work.
