Nelson was a little disappointing. Had a number of great opportunities with the bomber, but could make anything of them.

Think it's good for both sides he moved on. Obviously something wasn't working here

When has any team over spent the SMS in order to win a Grey Cup and how did that work out for them? Answer: IIRC it's never happened. Funny how some posters think we've got little money left against our SMS but the Riders can spend $260K on a player with no problem.

We'll see how many of their remaining free agents they can bring back. It's a big list of talent that will be expensive: Gainey, Purefoy to name a couple of expensive players.

Pretty certain I recall that the 2013 Riders pushed all their chips in (ie: went over the cap) during the 2013 season for that home Grey Cup. I remember they lost a ton a players that off season going into 2014 to get back under the cap. Two years later (2015) they were a 3 and 15 team. So if anything it's a short term deal and not a long term building strategy like the Bombers appear to have underway.

The "Full" Nelson never really busted loose with the Bombers. Held onto the ball well (did not have fumbleitus), but no threat to ever bust a kick. As far as receiving not sure he got much of a look on the field with our regular starters.

Walker better have a bounce back year as he was atrocious last season.

Best FA receiver I think still out there would be Elingson. Does he not play outside receiver and not in the interior though.

Walker is done, Edmonton must be desperate if they?re bringing him back. Atrocious is right.

Would be nice to get Ellington here, proven vet with a great set of hands and makes the big play.

It appears that the Riders are getting rid of their older, expensive players or in the case of Purifoy...an outside distraction.  Would seem, also with all the new players they signed last season, that they are rebuilding that team with younger cheaper players.  Goes against, what everyone is saying because of GC in Regina this year.  O'Day appears to be a different cat, except for paying big bucks for Duke Williams.  Lets see what happens on Feb. 8th and if they hit free agency hard.

And it seems like Jones is picking them all up, lol.

Purifoy apparently signing in BC.  Seems like the Lions are spending a pile of money this season.  They could be serious contenders if they improve their OL and get Rourke playing well.  Lots to ask.

A QB with so little experience. He may become a good QB in time but that's a very large step for his 2nd year and so little playing time. Yes their OL is still a mess.

Walters built the Bombers fro the trenches....seems like BC is going about it in exactly the opposite manner.    Their O-Line allowed too many hits on Reilly and he ended up retiring.....not sure they can win using this strategy.    I remember MOS handing the QB reins over to an unproven Willy and that was an unmitigated disaster....until we picked up Matt Nichols who provided some stability at this position.    If Rourke prevails it will be the first time since Russ Jackson that a Canadian starting QB was a success.    That's over half a century ago....and I mean I wish him well but it would be precedent setting if he made it throughout an entire season as their starter.

A team rises and falls with its Qb. Yes Rourke looked good in the last no nothing game of the season, but if he?s so good, why didn?t he see a snap earlier in the season when Reilly was stinking the joint out??? Ya, BC is spending a ton on receivers, but somebody should tell the GM, you need a good OL and then a reliable Qb to get your receivers the ball before you spend a ton on your receivers.

Carts before the horse on the left coast and they will crash and burn this year yet again.
