Did everyone just leave?  Or just too depressed to post?  Traffic went waaay down right after the postponement.

Hey, at least all of the Grey Cup games are now up on u-toob, even the 2019 one we can watch a million times in full HD glory.  I'm miffed that all of these GCs cut out the halftime panels and music concert though.  But I understand, it's probably not in the CFL's contract with TSN.  And I still have my (one) PVR copy to see the full enchilada.  Look up my "best grey cups" thread and post some more comments!  I'm having a blast watching the old games.

Yeah, there's just not much to say. Previous conversation was about the XFL thing and Esks changing their name, etc. Neither topic is palatable but at least it was discussion-worthy.

There's nothing to talk about. I don't think that announcing an August start guarantees anything. I see others are making posts about the drafts and some signings but I just cannot get excited about these in any capacity.

In a normal life, we would be interested in signings and the draft, and folks would be making plans to hit up training camp on their lunch hour and then spend their afternoons writing us detailed reports. We would be starting to think about breaking out the jerseys for the upcoming pre-season games. I'll stop there because it is making me sad to type any more.

An article on CFL.CA this morning that I was going to re-read and attach link seemed to disappear.

The gist of it was teams telling Ambrosie to not change the Canadian game in any significant way. IE: Field size and rules, 3 down 12 players etc.

I find it concerning that there was a need to tell Ambrosie that.

Also there was an important statement made earlier regarding the 2020 season but relevant to 2021 as well: Almost 70% of our revenues come in some or fashion from fans being in our stadiums, which made it difficult if not impossible to have a season. There are always going to be things we look back and say we learned, and we did.

No firm timeline to when we can achieve this and no news on any loan / financial input to allow a season to go forward.

Those are the gating issues to a 2021 season. Need one or both of those things to happen, particularly with a reduced length suggested season.

I mean, it's a football forum and we've been without football for nearly two years by the time this season (might) start.

I'm honestly surprised at how resilient the base has been for the most part.

Thanks guys for your input.  It's at least heartening to know there are others still here and we're all going through the same bleak football deprivation.  I recently peeked at Ridersforum and it's no different there.  I actually saw a guy post that he doesn't even hate WPG anymore, he just wants some CFL action!  Unheard of!  Wink

If you haven't watched the reposted u-toob CFL Classics 2019 GC yet, do it.  It always brightens up my mood!  The fun starts with the Alexander INT and doesn't stop until the final whistle.  At least if the CFL dies, we went out with a blue & gold bang.

Hey, I wonder if that GC was filmed in 4k but only broadcast in HD... I know Shaw/TSN don't do 4k yet, but surely they are filming in 4k already??  I'd love to think somewhere out there is a 4k copy that will eventually be made available / broadcast.

Where else would we be for those of us retired folks. No travel, casino's, indoor dining or outdoor sporting events.

There is a fair amount of chat for this time of year on the board, just not about CFL football or the bombers.

The NFL draft is starting on Thursday, there is a number of Canadian players that could be drafted.

The CFL draft is on May 4th, there will be lot's of talk after the smoke has cleared.

Right now the Jet's are probably the hot topic in Winnipeg.

Kerri Einarson, are 2 times Canadian Women's Curling Champion will be playing in the World Championship starting in a day or two.

Not sure how many will be interested in the CFL draft this year. I normally am but like last year, we will be spending more of our emotional capacity wondering about playing the game at all and much less about players who could never play a CFL down.

Sorry, not trying to be a Debbie Downer.

Yeah, I hear you.

That said the draft conversation is always interesting. We see the mock drafts and combine rating change as it nears. Comments from some fans with more knowledge of some of the young players.

Guesstimates / talks of players likely going to the NFL, either drafted of signed as NDFA's. That adds risk assessment factors into the mix.

Then hopefully we get to see the young faces in TC competing and several making the AR.

Have to think we'll have a 2021 CFL season but it is a precarious question.
