Perhaps we should have protected Appleton and left Dubois exposed. With PLD's $ 5 M salary and dropoff in scoring this past season, Seattle may have passed on him.

And would have taken Demelo... and we're back to being short Dmen... Appleton was an acceptable loss...

Unfortunate that Chevy couldn't have landed Ristolainen, who is now a Flyer.  Personally wanted this player after Buff, Myers & Chiarot left

Like their first Draft pick at #18 ...... a decent size Center, Chaz Lucius who I believe has terrific upside, 2nd choice at #50, Nikita Chibrikov, good size, leader type winger
....... the next 2 have me scratching my head

Sigh!....we won't see any of these guys for probably 3-4 years, in which case our window will be closed.
What a mess.

I have let hope he signs anyone in Free Agency.
If he says salary cap I'll shoot him! (Figuratively)

He always makes excuses, and shops at bargain basement.its a waste of top six forwards.

I doubt he signs Savard or Hamilton.

NOTE: Chevy only has Morrissey & DeMelo signed ...... out of the usual 6-7 starting Dmen ----- Yikes

Neal Pionk of course is the huge need to re-sign, also Stanley to re-up would be awesome ...... then I would like Poolman re-signed
....... then everyone, no doubt, is penciling in young V. Heinola (all ready signed)

is their a Top4 add coming from Chevy ......... thinking Jets sign UFA Cody Ceci as a Rt shot Top4

How ignorant to think he's done nothing for four years.

The Chicken Little routine is annoying.

Bare with me ??. 2 draft slots for Dillon when the Caps had to dump salary ?. Booooo Chevy
Jets have 6 D now signed on Cap Space Roster with Stanley, Poolman & Pionk yet to sign

Copp is now bound to be asking & getting $4.3 at least, if Stash gets this overspending by Chevy
Jets will need 5 more fwds on Cap roster & Copp is needed

Added Little?s $$ to Cap space & today the team has $ 18,957,022 to spend on
at least 5 fwds, 3 above Dmen to sign & a backup goalie.
If Pionk gets $6.2, Copp $4.3, Stanley & Poolman $1.5 each, then that would leave Chevy only a measly $5.4 approx. to sign or bring up to 23 man roster only 4fwds & a goalie to share $5+
Guessing Niku has to go, Vesalainen & Gustafson will make starting roster

Isn't Niko making the minimum?

Well if Montreal and Toronto sign old stars, like Perry, and Thornton, why can't the Jets.

I don't think Kopp is worth very much.
Who made more of a contribution, Perry, Spetza or Kopp?

Kopp,was a major disappointment.
I don't think he is responsible defensively, gets beat horribly in puck battles, and when thrust in the spotlight, wilts away. Similar to many of the Jets forwards, making defensive plays are few and far between, and seem like superhuman efforts, by all their forwards.

There is certainly no philosophy of being defence first.  So sure they will be fan favourites in the regular season, but that's probably all we can expect.

Does chevaldayoff have  a plan to get the kind of players we want?
Oh wait,...what type of player do we want? Younger, cheapest, happy to be here......what else?,

Yes Niku makes NHL chump change ...... but he is listed on the roster & can't be protected anymore on waivers ...... Chevy needs to but not likely to, get a 4th Rd pick at least

Copp easily, IMHO, offers more than Spezza & Perry ......... he just had his best offensive year, in the shortened season

NOTE: the Caps dumped Dillon's contract but Chevy gave up 2 picks
...... Caps today sign Ovi for $9.5M & have NO goalies on their starting roster & 4 other positions open with less than $5M in cap Space
................... WHY Chevy did you give up so much

Is two second rounders really so much? It's not like the organization is thin in terms of prospect depth and Dillon does address a need in the present.

Now a 3rd pick for Nate Schmidt who carries a Cap hit of $5,950,000 for the next 3 years  ........ where will the $$ be coming from to pay him Huh

If Chevy is to keep this guy then the Jets will be likely trading ........ my guess Morrissey or flipping Schmidt elsewhere
Otherwise there is really no $$ to sign Pionk, guessing at least $5.5M to $6.2M ...... or Copp to a $4.M - $4.3M

Who wants to play GM right now ??
