The practice rosters are currently full however the team will need to find spots for Ali Mourtada and Greg Ducre when they come off the suspended list.

That's the 1st time I've seen the CFL practice roster posted. I thought it was necessary in that group to include 1 global player?

Also still trying to figure out the 09/04 transactions for Oyelolo and Agudosi.

It might be that Agudosi was moved from the 12 man PR to the 5 man CFL PR on that date? Doesn't explain Oyelolo unless he moved to the 12 man PR.

We'll also need to see if anybody goes on or off the IR this week. That will potentially have a domino impact.

Roquemore and Dheilly added to game day roster. Briggs is still listed as starter at WIL but Roquemore could see reps there? Rose and Noah Hallett off the roster to 1 game IR? Roster doesn't show whether 1 game or 6 game, so that aspect is just a guess.

Does it strike anybody odd that we have 2 import LB's and 1 global on the roster but not starting ( potentially )? At the same time we only have Nick Hallett as an extra DB? makes me wonder why we have so many DB's on the PR and no game day depth?

Five players available on the DL for depth and 5 at LB.

Just another guess. If we have an injury in the secondary, I'd guess we might have to move Darby and have one of the LB's slot in at SAM. That said, nobody is shown as depth at SAM either.

Game 6:

Darrin Bauming   @DarrinBauming
Major CFL news this morning ...

Saskatchewan Roughriders defensive lineman A.C. Leonard failed to provide a sample for drug testing as outlined in the joint CFL-CFLPA drug policy, which results in an automatic two-game suspension. The suspension will be effective immediately.

Ed Tait   @EdTaitWFC
@Wpg_BlueBombers make two changes for the Banjo Bowl: LB Jontrell Rocquemore returns from injury and Canadian DE Nick Dheilly -- a Regina guy -- are on, off are DB Noah Hallett and DT Ezekiel Rose, both injured in the Labour Day Classic.

Ted Wyman   @Ted_Wyman
Here's #Bombers roster for Banjo Bowl vs. #Riders on Saturday. Still going with 9 D-linemen, with national Nick Dheilly making pro debut in place of Ezekiel RoseNoah Hallett is injured and off roster. American LB Jontrell Rocquemore returns after missing four games. #CFL

Taylor Shire   @TShireGlobal
#Riders depth chart vs #Bombers. Big changes to defence with DBs Ed Gainey & Loucheiz Purifoy heading to 1-game injured list. AJ Hendy moves from SLB to HB while Christian Campbell makes his CFL debut at CB. #CFL

Ted Wyman   @Ted_Wyman
Big losses on D for #Riders ahead of Banjo Bowl vs. #Bombers. Starters AC Leonard (DE), Luchiez Purifoy (DB) and Ed Gainey (DB) all out. Looks like they'll get DT Micah Johnson back. On offence, Rec Jordan Williams-Lambert is out. #CFL

Mitchell Blair   @mblairYQR
#Riders depth chart for Winnipeg is out.

With Leonard out (see previous tweet if you don't know), Woodard, Adams and Robertson will rotate at DE.

Gainey
and Purifoy are out on D with JWL out on offence.

Our defensive depth chart means precisely zilch with all the formations we've been shifting through.

Rocky back in which helps for sure. One more cog on the defensive wheel of fortune!! I guess teams have until one hour before game to declare their final roster now or is it even a game time decision? Not sure what the rule is anymore as keeps changing every year it seems! Wink

Sask not only losing starters on their defence and offence to injury, now A.C. Leonard refuses a drug test? Man, they are sure making it hard on themselves for this game at least whether by injury or questionable conduct by Leonard! Sad

I was focusing less on the actual depth chart than the actual depth that exists in the secondary and SAM.

Like I said we only have Nick Hallett as the only player that is a DB. I find it strange that we didn't add a DB off the PR in the last couple of games.

That decision is which player to make inactive for the game. This season it's been Gray. Couture wasn't practising for part of this week, so it's possible Gray makes the game day roster this week.

It probably doesn't happen but that's the decision of the day.  Depends on whether Couture is at risk on not being able to compete the game.

Roquemore was the SAM, why would he be getting reps at WILL?

No he wasn't. He was the WIL replacing the injured Wilson. Josh Miller was the SAM in game 2 after Josh Johnson got hurt in game 1. Look at today's depth chart for reference as well.

Almost certain to that the Roq could play SAM and WILL easily....also safety as thats what he was prior to coming here.

That may be and would provide good depth if we have an in game injury. I'm not sure how well Darby is doing at SAM. It was only his 2nd game and I haven't seen any big plays we're used to seeing when Maston was healthy. He may be doing great but it's difficult to tell on TV.

However the point was that in the game Roquemore played he was in for Wilson at WIL. If Roquemore could move to SAM or into the secondary on some defensive alignments or in game injury that's great news. It would be another reason to not need to have a DB as a DI.

We've been getting good play from Briggs and Gauthier. It might not be as good as Wilson or Roquemore but it's not Hurl either.

Earlier I've suggested Wilson might be healthy enough to be added to this week's game day roster. He  might not start and just be eased into the rotation. OTOH, they may wait with the bye coming after this game.

Query: When Wilson and Rocquemore are both healthy do both stay on the game day roster, who starts and which DI gets bumped?

IMO Wilson will end up starting and Rocquemore will be a DI. Brown likely gets bumped to 1 game IR.

All that suggests is we have some really good talent available shortly and some shuffling will occur.

Game 7:

Ed Tait   @EdTaitWFC
And the @Wpg_BlueBombers depth for tomorrow - one change with new K Ali Mourtada coming in for DL Tobi Antigha

Ted Wyman   @Ted_Wyman
Here's #Bombers roster for game vs. #Elks in Edmonton. American Kicker Ali Mourtada comes onto roster and will presumably handle field goals and converts while Marc Liegghio punts. Not sure who kicks off. American DL Tobi Antigha comes off the roster to make room for Mourtada.

Liegghio went 5-for-8 on FG attempts and 5-for-8 on converts in his three weeks as place-kicker. Not good enough, so #Bombers will look for improvement from American Ali Mourtada this week vs. #Elks. #CFL

Ted Wyman   @Ted_Wyman
Here's the Edmonton #Elks roster for Saturday game vs. #Bombers. Taylor Cornelius gets start at QB and Elks will have tackle SirVincent Rogers in the lineup for the first time. He signed in Edmonton in 2019 but this will be his first appearance in a #CFL game since 2018.

Dave Campbell   @Dave_CHED
We will finally see the debut of OL SirVincent Rogers. 2020 1st round pick Tomas Jack-Kurdyla starts at RG, Kyle Saxelid moves to RT, and Justin Renfrow is off and on the PR. DE Kwaku Boateng (leg) is on 1-game inj., Costigan start. Derrick Moncrief will make his #Elks debut #CFL
