That's a considerable hit to the NAT depth on defense. Embarrassed

Big hit agree

I have doubts re Bowman. He wasn't running very hard the first three games, and Nicholls presence won't make him run faster. Maybe Lapo can do something to get him open.  He looked disinterested on more than a couple passes in his direction.

Not as big as it would have been last year. We brought back Morgan who is also decent depth at that position.

Jones is a very good ST player. I would never have been confidant in him needing to start at safety. Of course that means Morgan might even be a lesser player if he needs to start.

I think Corney takes Jones' roster spot.

Is he ready to come off the IR this week?  Did he practice today?

He did practice today. I didn't really notice how many reps he took though.

Conteh and Branning are un-signed and available.

wasn't the team really high on Branning at one time? I was a little surprised to see him cut earlier...

That's what I thought and then he didn't even make the PR. Of course he may have declined a PR offer.

Never really know if some decisions are made on a player winning a spot or some loyalty from O'Shea.

IE: Morgan being re-signed as a more experienced player. Is he better with more upside or did he just get penciled in once he was signed before TC?

Can't honestly say I know but it's sort of what I predicted would happen.

Not really happy with the P.R. management so far this year (Brian Walker, Montgomery, Ekakitie, Branning or Conteh) but as you say, we really don't know if players were offered P.R. positions and refused.

I'm even wondering why we haven't increased the PR back up to 10 players. Adding another LB for example since Wild has missed time we have no one on the PR.

Always felt we should have another import OL sitting on the PR.

I'd be looking for a true return type talent and import RB as back ups.

No idea whether Flanders can even play this season even if we want and if we found it necessary to have him be ready.

We have hopes that our 2 back up Canadians can take some reps and do well but it's still a TBD.
