Darrin Bauming @DarrinBauming 21 hours ago Here's how the #Bombers look heading into #CFLFA today. Westerman, Heath, Thomas, and Bond all hit the open market.

I think the Durant signing will become one of the biggest stories of the season.

As is anything ever posted here lol.........it's just that having a grey cup winning QB as your back up can't help but bring up some serious speculation and/or drama to the season......

Only if Nichols plays bad enough to create a QB controversy

Or Nichols gets even a minor injury and Durant comes in and has some immediate chemistry with his receivers and the long pass.

Durant is a veteran QB and we expect him to have chemistry with receivers and create results. We expect zero controversy as a result. Nichols is our QB now and in the future. Durant is here for 2018 as depth.

You're the only one constantly speculating about Nichols ability.......

I don't see how having Durant as the backup will bring any 'drama' either. He is clearly the old, experienced backup that is there for an emergency. Nichols is our QB. Full Stop.

With your weird logic, you probably want Nick Foles over Carson Wentz

Just this week a couple other posters were questioning in another thread about Nichols long ball accuracy. So it's not just me.

I don't know... won the Eagles a Super Bowl over what is arguably the best QB of modern times? Wentz can make the argument that he could have done the same and done it better though... But look at it this way, what if Wentz comes out next year and loses the first 2 games of the season... Is there a controversy then? food for thought...

but given the make up of this team, there will be no QB controversy, unless we were to have come crazy losing streak not attributed to injuries. And there is probably 2 chances of that, slim and none...
otherwise, Durant will not get a long enough opportunity to try and win the job. Because even if Nichols were to sit for 3 games due to injury, once healed he'll be inserted right back in the line up regardless of the win loss record during the span.
Bottom line, it's Nichols job. Period... And rightly so, he's earned the opportunity, and for now away, it's his team...
But I'm not going to lie, I'd like to see how they stack against each other, say, during the same game one plays one half and the other get the other half... not that it would ever happen but I am curious if and how the dynamics would change, if at all...
