Pretty sure Spooner has a new deal already or one for 2018-2019 just waiting for the new year. Most likely why he wasn't 1-gamed and this release is just paper work shuffling.

The team is too high on him to allow him to walk and his loyalty staying when he could have been poached...and I hear it was twice goes a long way in the team "taking care" of you

He probably has a good shot at playing time next season if Bond takes off.

If Bond is not back ideally or best bet and most likely is to have Neufeld start there with Couture and Spooner backing him up if we choose to go 2 extra olineman again, but then again they may put either Hardrcick/Foketti there if they think it makes us stronger one at tackle..one at guard and that may be the route too with Foketti being cheaper than Neufeld and go with the young kids as back-ups and let him walk too.

I would love for us tho to be able to go 3 Nationals on the O-line as it opens up wayyyy more roster options. Now if Gray is back for camp if released in offseason and not wanting to waste a year or two trying to find a new practice roster spot somewhere and be in limbo until spring or later...I can't see him being that kind of guy and if nothing concrete develops for him by spring I bet he signs a 2-3 year deal here in his hometown to get his career moving.

Everyone on the O except Denmark. Would be nice, but the OL in particular.

Randle, Leggett, Heath, Jones, Wild, Westerman, (unless we sign finally sign AM).

Medlock at the right price.

I also can't see Quad as an FA. We just drafted him. He should have either a 2 or 3 year contract?

He was PR?d. So he was automatically released at the end of the season - or will be. Not exactly sure how the timeline works out. I?m pretty confident they?ll get his name on a new contract though.

November 16, 2017 -  The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the club has re-signed national offensive lineman Patrick Neufeld and International offensive lineman Jermarcus Hardrick.

Neufeld has signed a two-year extension after spending the past four seasons in Winnipeg. The seven-year CFL vet was originally acquired in a trade with Saskatchewan in 2013, and has played in 82 career CFL games. Neufeld started the final two regular season games at left guard, as well as the Western Semi-Final.

Hardrick has signed a one-year extension after being named a West-Division All-Star in 2017. He started all 18 games this season at right tackle, and 16 the year before, after signing as a free agent heading into the 2016 season.

We need some help at DB - Alexander and Walker may eventually become All-stars, but until then perhaps we need to sign a veteran or two to hold the fort.

Some people suggested we sign Jovon Johnson last offseason and I thought it was an unnecessary move. Turns out he probably could have helped.

Duane Forde mentioned him as the one player with the highest ceiling and raw talent in the draft this spring.

A non-comprehensive look at the #Bombers' pending free agents, presented in no particular order.

I want them all back except denmark, lefevour, hurl, and Knox. That will be some good talent we will have to let go but hopefully we can upgrade each spot.

Lefevour is a must sign. Best short yardage QB in the league.

Agree. I actually think he will be signed as #2 and Davis will be gone.

I want Lefevour back, but I hope we can improve on our backup QB situation.

Meh. I hardly think that qualifies him as a ?must sign?. Teams shouldn?t have that much money tied to a third string QB.
