Don't underestimate the impact Scott Milanovich has had on the Jaguars success.  He's really made Bortles into a half decent NFL QB.

Who is underestimating him?

I just never hear him get any credit for the Jags/Bortles success.  Bortles was considered a lost cause going into the season.

I would still write off Bortles. He was no better this year than any other year. Drafting Fournette was a HUGE reason the Jags offense did so well. It's the first year in a long time they've had a dual threat balanced offense in the passing and running game.  Also, it doesn't hurt they had the 2nd best overall defense this year. All reasons that Bortles appears to be improved.

I?m sure that all helped as well. But there are reports out of Jacksonville crediting Milanovich with turning around Bortles career. I think Milanovich has had a big impact.

Oh.  I thought you were making the Bortles statement(s) based off your own personal views and opinion, not reports out of Jacksonville.

Both. I have my opinion and it?s backed up by reports from Jacksonville beat writers.

And we?ve got ourselves a game now in Minnesota.

Well I would love to hear some of these opinions on how Bortles is better.

Facts are that he has pretty much the same completion percentage, passer rating, etc in 2016 and 2017.

The Jags had the 22nd best rushing offense in 2016 and 1st overall rushing offense in 2017.  Like I said before, Fournette adding the balanced attack is the main reason the Jags are so much better.

If you can explain how Bortles is a better QB than previous years, without attributing it to their league best rushing offense and 2nd best team defense in the league, I would love to hear it.

I?ve watched a few Jags games this season and he?s making better decisions.  He also lost his number one receiver the first game of the season and still had a good year (for Blake Bortles). His QB rating also improved over his 2016 season and he threw a few fewer interceptions. I think Bortles play, along with other factors you noted contributed to the Jags success. If you want to dismiss Bortles and Milanovich?s contributions, we?ll that?s perfectly fine...we?re all entitled to our opinions  :)

Alright... agree to disagree.  Just to note, yes his QB rating did improve, however it only improved in the final 3 weeks of the season as he played 3 of the leagues worst passing defenses.  Up until week 15, his passer rating was worse than last year.

Uh oh. Saints TD...17-14 Vikings at the start of the 4th.

Week 15 would have brought it up (143.8 ). But week 16 and 17 definetley brought it down (75.6 and 33.7). He ended the year with a QBR of 84.7. In 2016 it was 78.8.

Oh, and my bad... I was wrong... it was weeks 13 - 15 which he played the 3 worst defenses which inflated his QBR... not weeks 15 - 17 as I had previously stated.

Weeks 13 to 15 was 120, 134 and 144 QBRs.
