Alerting Other Teams (Sharing Too Much Information)

Although this has been brought up before it is important to remember:

- That some of the things observed at Blue Bomber practices should not be discussed here on the forum.

- Special or unusual line up schemes, new plays or "trick" plays are intended to be the element of surprise for the other team.

Sharing that information here only helps other teams in their preparation for a game against the Bombers.

The Blue Bomber organization has asked that such information be kept off the forum if observed at practices.  For the above reason, please ensure this information is not posted here going forward.  It has been mentioned a few times before but this "sticky" thread should serve as a reminder to avoid sharing such details in future.

Does the team honestly think that other teams use discussion boards to learn this information?  I mean, if any random person in the public is able to learn this information do we not believe that the other teams already have it.  It's been mentioned lots, it just has never made a ton of sense.

Do the blue bombers change their plays based on what the public have stated on outside forums?  I mean, if so we should start posting about fake plays we seen in practice to throw other teams off.  Get them planning for those plays that will never happen just in case.

Two other CFL teams have acknowledged that they regularly look at the various fan forums just in case some nugget slips out.  Others probably do it too.  So, yes, I do think detailing a trick play on the forum can alert another team.

Correct and thanks for the update.  It has happened and will happen and we will stick with the rule that information on "trick" play information will not be allowed here.  we're asking fans understand and comply.

I find it shocking that they check forums for information.  I would think they'd have someone in the stands for the practices reporting directly to the team.  Perhaps this is not a financial option in the CFL?  I know if I was a coach I'd have someone at the other teams practices for a few weeks.

No, but it is against the rules to video tape another team's practice.

Other teams check out other fan forums for stuff like who might be on the limp, or coming back from injury. For trick play info? They may read it, but no offense to fan forum members, rarely would a fan forum description be anything more than a very rudimentary description so it would be time wasted mostly. Finding out who is running well/not well/left practice nicked is very useful to the opposition looking for a weakness to exploit. These are the details we should be very careful about sharing.
