Exactly. Bergevin must have felt the Habs have enough of the soft skilled players. DSP has some playoff experience and should provide the Habs with some board crashing and net front presence.

yep

Big loss for the Blackhawks. Maybe the Jets can catch 'em and grab third place in the Central. Grin

Lou L. won that trade.
Why would the Panthers give up the drafts for another soon retiring senior to wander the beach fronts or trailer courts for Bingo games.

Jagr has been an awesome player who will, for sure, be in the Hall of Fame ........ but why would the Panthers need him & give up these high slot picks

Great take on the Clarkson trade tweeted out by Bob McKenzie...

Basically, Horton;s contract is not insured, regardless cap or no cap, CBJ couldn't afforrd to pay someone not to play.  OTOH, MLSE can.  They can stash Horton's cap hit on the LTIL, pay him not to play, and not have the cap hit Clarkson carried.  The richest team in the league can eat uninsured injured reserve money...

For those interested in advanced hockey stats, this website is a pretty extensive resource and offers a mountain of information:

http://war-on-ice.com/

You can even put your own charts/tables together using specific players or teams.
