What's the likely outcome of the regular season? (what you think will happen, not what you want to happen)

2nd in the West
3 (11.1%)
3rd in the West
11 (40.7%)
crossover
12 (44.4%)
last in the West -- we're out
1 (3.7%)

Sway

Look for Buck to play a more boring game

And probably focus on breaking the touchdown record with an array of QB sneaks to that running back

Gotta be an Asterix on that record

Milt did it the hard way

Well, here we go. Win against BC and we're 3rd. Lose and we're out. What will BC do in this one? Losing 2 in a row going into the playoffs is not good. On top of that, they will have to play us in the WSF having just lost against us. And they're playing at home. Good chance they don't lay down for the second half like they did against Calgary.

We're doomed.  Absolutely the worst possible result for WPG in week 20.

We couldn't stop Salter & Horvath if our life depended on it.  It will be 9 runs for every 10 snaps for BC.  And we proved not only in our BC game, but this last EDM game, that our D in no way shape or form can stop an all-run team with a mobile QB.

Younger will not adjust in the slightest.  Nothing will be different.  Nothing will be new.  It will be the same sets and the same schemes and we'll get slaughtered on the ground.  It may set a new CFL record to top the new CFL record we gave BC last time.

Younger will bring out the passing set on 2nd & medium and BC will run every time.  Just like Rankin did.  And our 4 DL can't stop an edge run if their life depended on it.  Our LBs will be vacated so even gut runs on shifts will be wide open for massive yards.

Nothing will be different, and our inconsistent O against a good BC air D will only put up 17-20 -- if we're lucky.  And BC will get 4 rushing TDs and 3 FGs and that will be that.

And then that may be the end of Younger, and no other team will hire him either.  The scheme is a proven failure, with too many flaws that cannot be overcome by "guys being more inch perfect".  I can name at least 3 horrible season-killing flaws with our D, and you better believe every other team's O knows them.  I won't even get into personnel who can't lunge, can't get close, and worst of all, can't tackle.

What a poop show.  Fitting end we end the dynasty out of the playoffs, and the oldsters creep away into the shadows.

I lost track of all the standings possibilities. If 3rd place is still alive that you made some valid points. OTOH BC might want to place us in the WSF than the other choices.

Regardless, I think the Lions play their starters for 1/2 the game. It's another game we could win but I won't be counting on it to happen.

One game at a time

We're now in the bottom 4 rows of the nice chart provided here:

We can be 3rd, xover, or out.  I say we're out.  And to rub salt in, I bet SSK beats EDM.  Although it would be freakin' hilarious if CGY gets 3rd!!

Why would their starters only playing half a game matter?  BC beat us like 100 to 3 when we last faced them, with like 400Y on the ground!  They'll be playing that same QB and he'll do the same thing.  Salter & Horvath will be fantasy picks of the century.

In fact, if I'm BC I'd only play Salter because Younger has answers for a "normal" QB like Rourke.  We have zero answers whatsoever for a super fast running QB assisted by a Horvath that no one on our team can possibly tackle.

Quote from: Waffler on October 17, 2026, 02:28:50 PMThe sky did not fall in Edm. We had three games only one of which needed to go our way. The 2nd of the 3 is tonight when Calgary plays. If not settled tonight we have to win in BC. If we can't do that when we need it then there is no chance of winning there in a playoff contest anyway.

Ya, it in fact did.  The entire WFC org should be ashamed.

Everything that could go wrong this week, went wrong. Last week everything went right though.

It comes down to winning in BC against a team that is looking past us. If we can't do that then it's just as well. That said, I think we can get it done and we'll be 3rd or 4th depending on Sask. We play in the only game that actually means anything as far as being eliminated. Sask will be 3rd or 4th, not sure if they have a preference.

Well Calgary had answers for how to handle Salter and made him look brutal.

True. We will want revenge also. I can't see BC viewing this game as anything more than an annoyance. They are looking at the semi-final and praying no one gets hurt. They didn't feel any urgency about beating Calgary past the half, no reason this game would be any different.

Yes, as Techno pointed out, we can still end up with a crossover. But nevertheless, win we're in, lose we're out.
