Sheahan appreciation thread with props to punt coverage teams

Being on a team with Sergio "60" is tough for a punter, he's sitting when most teams are calling for a punter instead of a kicker.

But his placement is usually immaculate, and the movement on his kicks can be mystifyling, for fans and returners.  With the posts moved, and the rewards for kicks stopping in the endzone or near it being so important (take a single in a close scoring game or to take the lead, or pin an opponent deep and flipping the field), his skills are going to be perfect.

And his holding for Sergio has been incredible.  How many bad holds have we seen, even with some pretty bad snaps, he gets it on spot.  An oft unhearalded part of his contribution.

I just wish he was a little more of a practical joker, love hearing brags about jokes in that aussie accent.  Loved Josh Bartel and his antics.

Our kicker just kicked 5 field goals in one game and we re talking about our punter???

The first two were from 56 and 53.  Most teams, those are punts...

But sure, give Sergio a thread of appreciation too.

I'm not sure they are going to be able to move the posts.  People are seeing and noticing FG returns more now, and every single time someone is saying "that won't exist next year".

It's strange, but when the changes actually happen, I think fans may end up missing the traditional FG placement more than the 55.

Leroux is not as good as Benson.  And Benson wasn't as good as Rempel.  Not sure why.  But we did continually get younger, and that seems important for other reasons.

For sure, field goals from 50 plus yards away is almost a given with this guy, he effectively won the last game for us

Local governments, school boards and universities across Canada should band together to threaten to sue the CFL for compensation for the cost of renovating football fields in every province.  All in all this could cost tens of millions of dollars which should not be taken lightly in times of economic stress.  Love to see Stuart Johnson brought before a parliamentary comitee to explain his reasoning for making these changes, then allow them to pelt him with tomatoes and the odd potato.

i've been critical of Sheahan. He's been good this year. Like others have said, not the guy you want backed up in your end zone.

All in all though, I think it's also important to acknowledge just how good Mike Millers units have been thus far. A slow start last year but they've gotta be top-2 by this point
