Give some love to the DL in game 1.  Holy smokes is that night & day from '24, eh?

Vaughters on the stunts was unstoppable.  Willie batting down short passes.  Rourke couldn't believe his eyes.

Fatboi was bull rushing single-teamed OL and then getting paws on Rourke.  My favorite part of the whole game!  Thought you could ignore Fatboi, eh?  LOL.

Adams causing headaches, though I didn't spot anything in particular yet (on my rewatch).

Double teams were on Vaughters and Willie all night.

We were getting massive pressure and almost-sacks with just 4!  I REPEAT, PRESSURE WITH JUST 4.  A LOT.

AGAINST A 4 IMP OL!

A WPG D with an effective 2019-2021 front 4 is going to be killing Os all over the league.

(Only gripe is they lost contain 2-3 times for huge gains... need a better LB spy plan when we face the mobile guys (MTL, EDM, BC)??)

Maintaining contain needs some work but not every QB is like Rourke or Ford with that ability. It's also how those kinds of QB's eventually get injured.
One game at a time.

As a fellow fatboi fan...😂

We are listed as endangered species...

He's not the "prettiest" player out there is he?

He's a Lunch bucket player.

Jake Thomas was everything that his "doubters" always said he was, he perfectly fine rotational player but too limited to play every snap.

With Lawson there and spelling him he's able live up to his full potential and is a great part of the DL as a whole.
My wife is amazing!

Sir Blue and Gold

It was a ...good effort? Willie Jefferson was dominant as usual. The rest of the group I think was good. I think this defensive line has the chance to be significantly better than last year's. There's a bit of the Rourke effect too -- he's really hard to rush and incredibly difficult to bring down. The DL makes more plays across the board if they're against Dru Brown or Bo Levi with the same effort.

Good start overall, not trying to be negative, but I don't think it was anything but good for the group overall.

Willie very consistently disruptive not to mention making big plays. Agreed with most re Fatboi. Lawson should only get better in the weeks to come.
Season ticket holder since year 1 of the Reinbold era.

I had a had a hard time telling the difference between Jake and Lawson when their numbers are obscured, although Lawson is bigger and has longer hair, they play a similar style and lineup the same prior to launch.  I swear there were times they were on the field at the same time, did not notice Kornelson at all.

Disagree, the doubters have over stated the negative on him for years imo.  Suggested he shouldn't be on the team and replaced.  All is does it make plays, is consistent, never missing a match and a key part of our DL.  Agree that rotating him is best but some didn't even want him playing and they were wrong and are still wrong.  I believe even our best players on D are made better through rotation.  It's just how we do it in Bomberville, everybody plays.  Some posters were even down on him before he came back after his brief absence years ago.  Yes some took the position he is only good when used in rotation.  The criticism on him as been proved wrong year after year.  Great to see some continuing to support him!  Agree with Techno he had a great game.  You can down play it all you want to try to defend those that were negative on him but I'm not drinking that koolaid.  When needed Thomas has proven he can play every down but at his age that sun is setting.  Huge Lawson fan, such a deadly combo!

Some were worried about our depth at DL.  Worked out just fine.  Our D was outstanding.

Agree with you Techno on Vaughters and Willie....bbbbbeasts.  Not sure about Adams either but I'm very high on him.  Love you line on Thomas, can't sleep on him.  He still has got it! :)

Well there are at least three of us on the fatboi train, happy to see buddy!.  He needs our love and deserves it.  Many on here are hard on players if they are not studs.  Role players, depth players, consistent players help you win cups.  Can't all be Stegalls.  Yup a working mans hero.  He has been here so long and all he does is never get hurt and make plays.

And Jake fills in on O line once in a while.

amazing career as good Canadian starter, depth player and rotational guy, the fact that he can play on OL show how important he is to this club for so many years
He does it all and never is hurt

All I wanted to see was "better than 2024", and certainly you can agree they were already (much?) better than '24?  That's a win already.

Easy: Jake always holds his helmet chin up before the snap for some odd reason.  One of the only players that does that.  Surely there's a device to get his helmet how he wants it at the snap?  Dunno.  But that's his signature.
