Winnipeg Football Club Unveils 2023 Community Impact Report

WINNIPEG, MB., April 18, 2024 - For the first time, the Winnipeg Football Club has unveiled a Community Impact Report showcasing the remarkable work and positive impact the team has made within the community over the course of the previous year.

In 2023, the Club actively participated in or hosted over 200 community events, exemplifying its commitment to community engagement. Through the charitable ticket program, the Club partnered with more than 40 organizations, donating over 600 tickets to individuals who may not have had the opportunity to attend a Blue Bombers game otherwise.

"This year, we are proud to present an extensive overview of the positive and growing work our team has undertaken in the community," said President & CEO Wade Miller. "With the growing number of events, youth camps, training seminars, and community outreach programming, it felt necessary to give our work in the community its own moment to shine."

The report delves into the Club's commitment to support and grow amateur football in Manitoba while recognizing the power of sport to inspire, educate, and unite people of all ages. It highlights the Club's dedication to various community initiatives not only in Winnipeg but also in surrounding areas, making football accessible to as many youth as possible.

The Winnipeg Football Club extends its gratitude to its partners and fans who have made this remarkable community outreach possible. The Club takes immense pride in its ability to give back to the community and remains dedicated to furthering community engagement efforts and making a lasting difference in the years to come.

Sure hope the club closely checks the backgrounds of the organizations they deal with for sponsors for the upcoming training camp.  Had a issue last year in my opinion.  The Bombers have an incredible reputation in the community and I know that will continue as long as they partner with like minded sponsors.  Very proud of the rich history this club has.  Keep it up!

I really like the program they do to fly in northern communities to attend the games.  Talk about a cool experience for the kids that they'll probably never forget.  A night or two away from home and an evening at the stadium... crazy fun for kids of every age.

Often forgotten are the small airlines that contribute in a big way to make that happen.  Kudos to them.

I'm not sure any other team does this?  TSN should play it up more on TV when WPG does this... an on-screen mention and camera shot each time at minimum.  How is that not top notch, feel-good publicity for the entire CFL??

Seems like a really good program, I would like to know how it's funded, surely it can't be the Bombers picking up the entire tab.

From the sounds of the announcements and press releases the small airlines are either paying a big chunk of it, perhaps through free or heavily discounted seats on flights.  That's just my guess, though.

Highly doubt that, those northern airlines usually survive on government contracts, not enough commercial action to make much of a profit.

One of Manitoba's larger corporate companies Exchange Income Corp. (EIF) makes it happen for our Northern Communities.  They offer the flights I believe for all those folks.  I don't know the exact details but that's who is contributing to it.  The Gov't contracts help EIF but they are a very successful and diversified corporation.  I have been a long term shareholder and also so happy to hear when they give back.  Good company, good corporate partner and a great deal for these community members to see a game.  To be honest it's also a good business move.  Our indigenous population is very large and growing fast.  They will fill the seats for years to come! :)

For that that like to play stocks the symbol is EIF.  I bought originally around $12! :)
