Brady Oliveira looks like CFL MOP - too early to anoint?

The numbers he put up were great -  rushing and receiving. He also blocked.

He was consistent.  Often he carried the team.

Kelly played great as well BUT I would argue the second best QB performance after Collaros.

Further if there was any questions this weekend should have sealed the deal with a total collapse and pouty Kelly.

The that said, has the voting started and when is/was it over?

I think Goldmember coined Brady the Beast.  I was thinking the same thing.

According to Bauming votes were submitted mid-week, prior to this weekends games.

Therein lies the key.  Does anyone have a way to find out?

But even if they voted last week, might they not find a way to change the results?  Is it just me, or wouldn't it be a bad look for the CFL if in a few days they announce Kelly as the MOP right after a, frankly, embarrassing performance in his first big game as starter?  I'd be interested in hearing SSK fans' take on this.

EDIT: Assuming Bauming is correct, my above point still stands.  You could mock the CFL for handing it to Mr. Choke vs Mr. Nearly 100-yards In The First Quarter.  They want that look?

.

Agreed. Pouts, glares, etc did not earn Kelly any style points either! ;)

Chad Kelly removed himself from serious contention when he didn?t play against the Bombers, as far as I am concerned. Piling up wins and passing yards against the Red Blacks, Ticats, Elks, Stamps, and Riders makes you a top five QB, nothing more. A real MOP wants to play the best, not sit out because he needs the rest. He and his team embarrassed themselves by doing so. The league should be ashamed if he wins the award.

Well, like I said in another thread, even before we saw the results of the division finals, it was probably 50/50 Brady/Kelly.  So even if they can't change anything and even if they don't care about the "bad look" of giving it to Kelly, there's still a good chance it'll go to the rightful owner: Brady.

If they do make the decision before the EAST/WEST Finals, that needs to change. As we saw yesterday that should be made following those two games.

Got my vote.  We are very lucky to have him.  Pay the man what he wants.

I think we signed him for 2, but that was in '22??  So is Brady really a FA this year?  Ya, he'll cost a lot more then.  He'll cost somewhere around what we used to pay AH33 when he was in his prime.  He'll probably take a small "home town boy" discount plus another "wants to stay with WPG" discount.  But he'll still get (mega) paid.

So, can he do the double Harris did?  MOP and MOC of the GC?

That would be the "consolation" prize, yes.  And the season-MOC award in a few days, which he's got to be a shoe-in for.

The voting is based on the regular season alone. It has to be.  What if a non-playoff team has a candidate? Anyway the east ALL voted Kelly, you can be sure of that. Argos are 16-2 and he is a QB. He's already won it. Best we can do is use it as motivation in the Grey Cup.
