Crum is for real, what an anomaly, some kind of weird QB nerd that picks up the game so quickly and can execute effectively in his first few games, through OT no less.  Not sure I can ever remember that happening before.  Great news for Ottawa and the CFL in general, I see Arbuckle moving to a new location again next season.

BLM and Mike Reilly were the last ones I can remember coming in raw off the bench and lighting up the league.  Maybe Kelly, too, but the jury's still out on that one.

CGY, even though they didn't win, showed you what you have to do to stop Crum from ruining your day with his feet.  Judge was a superb spy.

I still don't know why we didn't make that adjustment when he was killing us on the ground.

Biggie is probably too slow now to do it, but imagine if we had a healthy Wilson in the game and gave him spy duty??

If we face OTT again, this will need to be addressed.

Reilly spent the first two years of his career in BC on the PR and as 3rd string to Lulay and Jennings, he didn't really get a chance  to start games until his 3rd year in Edm. which had a weak team, so he lost a lot in addition to taking a physical beating because of his playing style.  I think those early years in Edm. shortened his playing career and killed his enthusiasm for the game.

Biggie can still spy in a pinch as the crunch he lays is a deterrent in itself.  But yes a younger faster guy might be a better choice.

Ya, I was thinking raw in terms of no starts.  If you mean raw as in straight outta U, the best example is Strev.  Can these new guys like Crum do as well as Strev's record over a whole season or two?  I think .500 is the benchmark there.  Remains to be seen.

Ya, but Biggie is slower than all the younger QBs and RBs.  Biggie's strengths are IQ, ball-nose and pouncing.  He's not good in chase or against a faster guy on the open field (Kelly in the GC and Crum in that last game prove that).  Usually you assign a single full-time spy to a running QB, like CGY did with Judge.  Wilson would be ideal.  Briggs maybe not so much.  Clements in a pinch.
