CBS Sports to Carry CFL Games

The money the CFL gets from CBS is peanuts but it sure is better than what ESPN paid. In Canada, TSN has done a good job but I believe they could do more to expand the base. Right now, it's mostly oldies that watch the CFL. This demographic won't last forever.

Well, that is true.  My dad's generation is dying off, that's the for sure.  But my in peer group -- age range 40-60 -- more than half are watching Bomber games.  It's a bit surprising, actually.  None are huge fans.  But I'm the only one who goes to IGF.  I can drag one or two to games each season, but they mostly like to sit at home.

My point is, I'd be more concerned with the butts-in-seats demographic problem than the tv-viewership demo.  The TV demo in my group is healthier than one would guess.  And in my group, at least, they'll make solid viewers for 15-30 years to come.  The key now is to get their kids interested.  My dad's demo did their job, now it's time for us 40-60's to do ours.
