And yet, if our o had done something, anything useful in the 2nd half we likely win. Like, you know, get more than 1 first down?

Just like all the cups we lost, when the chips are down we can't sustain a drive.

None of which is on younger.

Feel free to play the what if game to your heart's content.

Younger's the DC. He wears this unit's failure's as much as the players do.
It's craptacular.

Asking the d to stop a team simply getting in fg range is a tall order.

Yes, we totally suck when the opponent goes full dink and dunk. And we continue to suck so bad maybe it's on purpose. I wonder if the plan all along was to force max d&d while having an o that was just good enough to match scoring. In theory that could win you games.

The o has not been keeping up their end of the bargain.

Bc found ways to disrupt the ssk max d&d yesterday. It will be interesting to see if we try to steal any ideas, or just let ssk do their thing. That will be the tell of the season.

Truly not happy with DC or OC. Condell coaches like he has the 28 year old Zach. The plan has to be max protect, 2 quick reads and the ball is out. Live to fight another day if necessary. QB health trumps anything in the regular season.

Except for Hall and Lapo has MOS ever hired good coordinators? He has had some truly bad ones. Hogan, Bellefeuille, Etcheverry off the top of my head.

Because bend but don't break is not made for 3 down football.

Take note of how many consecutive 2 and outs the offence posted in the 2nd half, if they can't stay on the field for any length of time the defence gets no rest.

The bend dont break d, causes the d to be on the field way too much, and with Zac,/condell seemingly preferring not to go with a ball control offense the fit is terrible.
As a team they need to get on the same page
In the first quarter last game Condell utilized the short game but at the first sign of adversity went back to Zac looking for the deep strike with poor results.
Both coaches needs more change ups in their schemes to avoid the other team figuring it out in the 2nd half.

Our offence is worse than our defence.

But it's not just the coaches. We use mostly imports on our defence. We've invested most of our recent draft picks  on that side of the ball (Smith, Shay, Gatkuoth, etc). Our only recruited players that are getting opportunities (Williams, Reese, Fletcher) are on defence. There just seems to be a total lack of resources/opportunities being given to the offence. It's more stagnant.

Pete, that wa funny last line. ...but true.

But I wonder, and U think maybe it was Ariel who may have said it. " I can only coach the players that I am given"

That doesn't suggest in the Bombers case that The jets  should fire the Jets Gm, but really what has Walter's done?  Lawler was here, and really  a difference maker, and we don't break the bank for him? We are left with nice Canadian boys who are not pro calibre. We hang on to beyond their orime vets who refuse to play hard, and cost the team all kinds of yards, and resultant opportunities.

Clearly Younger has not improved our defence over the years he's been around so he should go first. My second choice would be Condell since it's only his first year here. He's definitely not nearly as good as some other OCs in the league so if the BB wants to win another Grey Cup, it most likely won't be with him. O'Shea at least has brought us to the GC 5 years in a row so he's always going to get a free pass.

If funny all the anger and outrage is directed at the coaches, but the coaches can only coach the players they are given. Why has Walters been spared the rath?? Perhaps if you brought in a real NAT reciever instead of Tommy N, our offense would be better, perhaps if you brought in a blue chip #1 receiver to replace Lawler, our O would be better, perhaps if you brought in a safety that we've needed since BA retired, our D would be better, perhaps if we brought in Sankey to replace Bighill at MLB our D would be better, you can go on an on with all star players who have left for whatever reason, only to be replaced with cheap chumps instead of blue chip players. What we're dealing with now is a lack of talent that can't execute consistently on offense, and likely never will, and a defense that doesnt have a killer at MLB and safety. Pretty basic stuff. So chill out on the coaches, and look a bit higher in the food chain with your anger.

As MOS says, its a work in progress.  There are differences in many ways to last year,m and the years before, in personnel and schemes.  Sometimes things work right away, some take time.  We got lucky in the past, and expectations are very high.

This is an experienced crew, up and down, and they will put it together.

Last game should have been their prove it game, but they couldn't sustain dominance so they proved nothing.

I think the players brought in are just simply not good enough.. we lost a lot of front office staff with Rigmaiden and Goveia not in the organization anymore. McManus is not nearly good enough in getting us talent.
