TicketMaster login Persona Security Check

Is anyone seeing this "SECURITY CHECK" warning when they login to the STH portal to access their tickets?  I saw it last game but was just trying to get in the door so I just hit skip.

Looking at it again now, it seems like they are trying to force me to provide a photo id to my phone and an actual live picture of me?  Ya, I'm not signing up for a new credit card, I'm just using my tickets.  I'm not doing that garbage.

When I click skip it says that on July 5 my account will be "permanently restricted".  It says I can use existing tickets but can't buy more.  That's pretty much ok with me as I don't buy tickets to anything and WFC handles my STH account for me.

It says they are doing this for "unusual activity", but it doesn't say "on my account" -- so I guess their site has unusual activity.  Well, not my problem.

Is anyone else seeing this?  Did you do the hoops or just ignore it?  Think this will, contrary to what they say, mess up access to our STH on games after the 5th?  And would it still say this if I accessed the web site from a desktop -- which clearly cannot take a picture of anything?  Like we needed another reason to hate TM.

I have a bunch of Ticketmaster accounts I bounce between and haven't seen that on any of them. I'd just do it because, who cares, but you've obviously tripped some kind of security flag on their side.

Ya, not providing my photo to TM.  Especially if this isn't a global thing but them just them picking on me!

I just checked on desktop and the same login process does NOT ask for this stuff.  It's only on my phone.  Maybe it doesn't like Firefox.

So I'll just buy any new tickets I might ever need on desktop and avoid it altogether!  Problem solved.

If they want to lock me out of the phone I'll go pay WFC to provide me with paper tickets before giving TM my picture.

Hardy har har.

I do tech & tech security as my sole business.  If you trust Borg for your browser, well, good luck!  All your base belong to them.  AND the worst security record to boot.

Every week now Chrome has 50+ CVEs, many severe.  That's not a quality product in my books.  Have fun with your zero days.

Oh ya, and if you insist on getting reamed, I hope you at least are savvy enough to run it in a jail!

Except billions of people use Chrome every day and don't (and won't ever) have anything bad happen while simultaneously enjoying websites working properly because they're using what everyone else uses which is why most of those vulnerabilities exist in the first place.

As everyone said about IE for 8 years... and... even Firefox right before Chrome came out!  Firefox was at 32% at one time, and you probably used it (as you did IE if you're not a Linux guy).

But your last bit about vulnerabilities is dead wrong.  If you read even a smattering of the CVEs you'll realize the reason is bad coders and lazy practices.  Constantly getting hit by the same bug types that any seasoned vet programmer would know to avoid.

AI is running audits on FF too, you know, not just Chrome.  And so far the code is holding up far better.  (Yes, so far...)

Not to mention, I'm 100% Linux, and Chrome on Linux... ewwwww.  Clearly not of the FLOSS mindset.  And did I mention the data-stealing to feed AI and invasive telemetry yet???

I still find it odd not a single other person is seeing this security warning -- out of at least 30 regulars here?  That's a bit disturbing.  Maybe TM is trying to punish me because I got a piece of that class action lawsuit?

I might have to make the trek into trying to call a TM human...
