Scoring and excitement are both very high this season.  What possible reason can someone give now for ditching the 55 and moving the GPs?

If Johnston is not lying, and the reason really is "more scoring and excitement", then he needs to reverse those 2 changes.  If he doesn't reverse the changes, then clearly he is lying and the real reason is soccer fields, or USA fever dreams, or... and if so, just come out and say it!

SSK is this good because they have perfected the dink & dunk at the exclusion of all else.  They are 2021 WPG, but maybe with a weaker D.

CGY almost found some ways to stop the short pass.  Study what almost worked there and perfect that.  That is how you will stop SSK.

SSK is no better than last season.  D is worse.  Oullette is always one play away from disintegrating.  But it's still good enough because no one has a counter for the short game and that OL.

Go back to the last time SSK had a top short game, '18-'19ish.  Hall found a way to neuter it.  Dig up that D playbook and copy it.  You need to get in the lanes and have most players in front.  And you need to blitz and get home sometimes.

The long game is an afterthought for SSK.  They can still pull it off, though, but you need to MAKE them do it by taking away the short.  Yes, that means leaving your DBs one on one behind while every other asset plays in front.  While still stopping the run.  The saving grace is Harris almost never runs (though he did tonight).

If we don't find a way to stop SSK, we won't win the W.  And right now the W is winnable because BC and CGY are proving not so great!

100%.  Mace studied what made WPG great, tweaked it so it can use mostly-NAT RECs, spent all the $ on OL, and decided his D was going to focus on pressure.  I think his hyper-focus on the unstoppable short pass at the expense of much else has paid off.
