Player Grade - Case

Offense D, big mistakes but runs a decent route at times, nice play on the sweep
Returning B, showed confidence and quickness
Blocking didn't notice

Let me know what other grade him at.  1st game, we shall see if gets a 2nd.

I noticed his speed, and he did get a TD at the end there. What big mistakes were there?

He looked good on returns and the speed on the sweep. The 1st int I think falls on him for falling down. It happens to other receivers at times but in his 1st game and 1st pass thrown his way was not good. It took us out of scoring range and changed momentum. Can't put all on him but overall he'd only grade out as a " C " based on yesterday.

Lots of players have speed but I have to take what O'Shea says with a grain of salt. He says everybody is a starter.

A bigger question is how well did he block or influence the play the rest of the game. That was hard to follow live and I've deleted the PVR. Just a guess but he's not very big and neither the OL or receivers seemed to being that well.

I don't know if he'll get to play next week or not.

Vaval might be out due to injury. In any case Case might replace him as the returner. Whether that creates changes at receiver as well is a TBD. As I mentioned we might see Logan finally make an appearance as the returner.

We only have Cobb and Mitchell as receivers in theory. Even Cooley might be a consideration as a better blocker and more weight to run over defenders. Cobb has some CFL experience and creates a ratio advantage.  Cobb has stats as a returner that aren't too bad. At least in comparison to current choices. He's not J. Grant but then who is?

We have to wait and see if Bryant plays next week. It has ratio implications with Vanterpool moving back to LG. Lofton was practising so he might be added.

Any snaps Eli was on, Case was off as that usually signalled the possibility of a running play. Corcoran also had numerous snaps which may have been in place of Case or Clercius.

Mitchell a wide out not a slot, would have to juggle more.  Can't plug and play him.  Yes need to take a peak before his salary is due.

Cobb hasn't played yet, you mean Case.  I doubt Zach will react like you say.  He will be pissed but I'm sure both will figure this out and move past it.  Bigger question is Case good enough for starter reps or is he a backup and special teams guy?  Has the tools, I'm not writing him off yet but also concerned about his performance at receiver.  Looked good at returning.  Club must see potential in him.

You can if you take one of Sterns or Case off their role as a receiver. Depending on the status of Vaval, Case might be the returner next week.
