Ford is good. Scary good. Someone is going to overpay unfortunately but that won't change the facts that he's a 26 year old Canadian allstar and the best corner in the league.

Don't see any GM going over $150k for a DB, especially the position Ford plays, only Adarius Pickett at SAM and Marc-Antoine Dequoy as Safety are paid above that mark.

Ford is an elite CB but playing beside Holm helped him improve rapidly, during the early season losing streak they were on he made some errors in judgement.

Houston got a 2 year deal for $275K in hard money... so $135k for Holm (who I think is better) is a pretty good deal.

Yes but that was for 2 years not per year. That's the same as Holm but his contract is for 1 year.

Exactly.  We got a better player for $2500 per year less.

Houston got bit by the WFC-D-player-leaving-for-big-payday curse.  Injuries and basically accomplished nothing in CGY.  He should have just stayed here at that budget KW set for him.

Houston played the same amount of games in 2024, as he did in 2023.

2023: 15 Games, 50 DTs, 7 INTs, 1 TD.

2024: 15 Games, 74 DTs, 5 INTs, 1 Sack, 1 FF.

If Houston stays, we don't field Bonds.  Bonds had lower production, sure, but was half the price, and did quite well for a rookie.  And we will see improvement in his numbers this year, no doubt.

Weird, I watch every game and he was mostly invisible in '24.  I guess that's what happens when you join the worst team in the league.  He may have gotten some stats (probably because CGY was on D almost all game most games) but he didn't really make the mega-visible game-winning plays he did when he was here.

I guess he did as good as he could given his situation.  And he got paid, so there's that.

Ya, Bonds is showing great promise and I'm excited to see his 2nd year.  He was looking really good by the post-season.  He almost had that INT in the GC which would have been huge (it was a great play regardless).  I think TOR had a plan to pick on Bonds early and often, but abandoned it when they saw he wasn't just taking up space.

The new question is will we need yet another new guy (Ford leaving?).  Does Bridges win the spot and start to look like the next big thing?

Parker will be pencilled in to start at CB. If a rookie beats him then we've found another gem.
