I just don't understand why BC is bent on keeping Rourke, who clearly under performed this year, and if you're worried about Adams's performance in the WSF, Rourke would have been 10X worse. I'd be keeping Adams and kicking Rourke to the curb

Maybe they're not. But they made a huge commitment to him. And when he actually went through a training camp with the team, he obviously experienced much more success than this year's thrown into the fire while learning your 4th offence in the last month
My wife is amazing!

Edmonton and Calgary and definitely looking for upgrades. They have missed the play-offs and their attendance is tanking. Hamilton benched Bo Levi this year and that relationship seems a little frayed at best. Sask could be looking for a longer term solution at QB.

As to his salary, 3down lists him at 400k, and even 500k won't even out him in the top half of starting QB salaries. I think your perception is a little skewed.

I was suggesting Adams salary is definitely too high for a backup role.  As for BLM and Trevor Harris I think their play this season has earned them the starting job next season. The Ti-Cats also have a good young backup in Powell.

How does Adams go from front runner in the 2024 MOP conversation to a backup?? The guy is a starter, moreso than a ton of Qb's presently starting--MBT, Maier, BLM, Brown, Masoli and he's in the same conversation as Collaros, Harris, Fajardo and Kelly. He's a bonafide starter and I hope he gets to start in either Calgary or Edmonton next year and we can all sit back and watch Rourke flop again and laugh our *ss off!!!

Your blind hatred for Rourke is disturbing

VAJ will be sought after by 2-3 teams and earn at least $500k.  And he'll probably be closer to Zach money than $500k.

Quote from: ModAdmin on November 06, 2024, 06:15:25 AMThe question is, is Rourke the future in BC because it seems pretty clear Adams Jr. won't be returning to the Lions unless he goes into the 2025 season as the No. 1 guy.  And there is no guarantee he would be willing to re-sign in any event given his comments about being benched this season because of the failed experiment with Rourke.

It's simple choice:

1. Keep VAJ = be a top-3 team in CFL in 2025, but never win a cup.

or

2. Keep Rourke = probably be iffy for half/all of 2025, possibly win a cup in '26-'28.

If you have the time and job security, you pick #2.  If you're on the hot-seat (or if you're a basement team trade-shopping) you pick #1.  If I'm BC right now, I'm picking #2.
