The game Streveler started for us set my mind at ease about his ability to QB this team. Even with a limited play set he performed admirably. He can beat a team with his arm and his legs. His struggles in SY situations speaks more to the Oline than it does to Streveler's ability to pick up the required yard(s). I absolutely loves what he brings to our game and I wouldn't switch him with Prukop or any other SY specialist.

I am not convinced our offensive players are practiced and focused enough for too many wrinkles with Strev at this point.  Re-watched the game from Thursday and our first quarter was a comedy of errors. 

Later in the game we didn't even know how to line up properly in a basic formation. 

High performing offences can add wrinkles - we are basic vanilla getting rid of the ball quickly cause our o-line is still not where it needs to be. 

Zach is our best bet to throw the ball - Strev is our best bet to sneak it. 

Perhaps second half of the season will see some creative plays once we get out of elementary school and start executing basic plays and scoring TD's

Three rookies at WR and one guy in his first game on the AR.  Only Demski has any decent amount of time in the system and with Collaros.  Formation issues seemed to be with the rookies, not sure if Lucky mucked up or not.  And a new RG in his first CFL game didn't help.

Hate being a drone, but a vet like Bailey who is familiar with our system might have settled things down a little.

Zach mentioned that a key part of the strategy last game was getting the play calls from Buck in early so he could get all the rookie receivers lined up properly.  He was probably losing his mind having to deal with a faulty O-line as well as so many rookies who haven't got a solid grasp of the playbook.

He totally is getting paid as a SY guy.  I'm pretty sure he's getting the same as Prukop got, or even a little less.  He's a great deal considering he'll get you over .500 as a starter if need be.

And hand it to Strev: I go down on the field after every game and Strev is down there signing jerseys for the fans every time.  I checked the last game and it still holds true.  No other player is out there every week, and most of them you never see (like Zach).

I slightly disagree with you here.

I think we had to implement these plays because Zach isn't where he needs to be. He was taking so long in the pocket and we couldn't get into a rhythm because we would run for 3 yards on first down, and then either take a sack or miss a deep target on second down.

The game scripting by Buck, really helped Bucks confidence. Collaros went for 27/33 and 295-yards.
I made the point earlier that we shouldn't be counting on him to just drop-back, go through the reads, make the decision and throw a dime.
I feel like the last three games, we've kind of restructured the offence, with more roll-outs, play action, motion in the back field and quick-hitter plays. We don't have Tom Brady anymore, but Brock Purdy can still get you to the same place with great gameplanning.

 When Strev got stuffed on short yardage either against Toronto or Sask Strev went right. Meanwhile on the left side between guard and tackle there was a four yard bubble where our line blew out. The opposition.  Maybe Strev should run the correct hole and not adlib?

I doubt that Strevler makes adlib's on short yardage plays.

Also Strevler's package is almost exclusively RPO's when not in 3rd and 1.

I thought the whisper number on Prukop when he was here was $110-$120k.  And I thougt the Strev whisper was $110k.

No idea what Prukop is getting now as he bounces around teams as an afterthought.  If we lose Strev, I'd take Prukop back in a heartbeat.  Monster on SY.  Just don't start him as a #1.

In 2023 Dru Brown came in as the 15th highest paid QB in the CFL at $82k, Prukop came in somewhere below that total, so he's bottom dollar.  He's doing alright for what he does, he can probably milk his role for another 5-6 years if he stays in shape.

Dru was still on ELC, no?  Year 2?  Can't compare ELC to decade-long multi-team SY powerhouse... I don't see him only getting $82k-level during his time here.  This year, maybe, because he couch-sat for a lot of FA.  But not when he was really wanted and valued in blue & gold.
