Good the Bad and the Ugly

Biggie was doing great in this TOR game.  Sniffing out balls and getting to the action.  I saw a couple of plays where I swear he looks like he's gotten faster vs a few weeks ago.  He was effectively chasing some speed guys down.  His DL work (blitzing and hole stuffing) was also looking better.

Complain about Biggie all you want, but I would exclude this game, he was doing a great job.  If he keeps this up, maybe having paced himself in-season, he'll be a force down the stretch.

Only complaint I have with Biggie this season is he's too often up on the line rushing the QB instead of staying home and covering the middle ground, most big runs up the middle have found him washed out on the edges unable to help with the tackle.  In days gone bye they had great WILS like JSK, Khalil Bass and Ian Wild who were very good executing LB blitzes, they don't seem to use Wilson or Kramdi much in that way.

Yes, this is what I've noticed too, and I certainly wasn't complaining about Adam, I just haven't noticed him as much as in previous seasons, likely for the reasons you've mentioned. To your point though, you think it's more the supporting cast than his age? Could very well be, even maybe a bit of both.

Yes, this is what I've noticed too, and I certainly wasn't complaining about Adam, I just haven't noticed him as much as in previous seasons, likely for the reasons you've mentioned. To your point though, you think it's more the supporting cast than his age? Could very well be, even maybe a bit of both.

I think it has more to do with where Bighill is lining up for the snap of the ball, often he's right next to the DE or one foot behind, because he's blitzing. I would like to see him stay at home more and use the other 2 LB's on the occasional blitz.  If they ever get back to the 7-8 player D-line rotation, they won't need to send extra bodies as often to create pressure.

Agreed. Not sure how we're going to generate the extra pressure but we need to do something. Schemes, personnel, or both, something needs to change or we're going to continue to get lit up.
