Dalton Schoen named CFL Top Performer

WINNIPEG, MB., October 12, 2022 - The Canadian Football League today announced that Blue Bombers receiver Dalton Schoen has been named a Week 18 Top Performer for his contributions in Saturday's 48-11 win over the Edmonton Elks.

Schoen caught seven passes for a career-high 162 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday's win. Schoen currently leads the league in both receiving yards (1,275) and in touchdowns (14) as a rookie.

What an outstanding player he's become for the Bombers. He's also a lot of fun to watch as he splits coverage and breaks tackles for long gains.

I think he will get some invites from several NFL camps next year and the Bombers will released him to pursue NFL opportunity. I'm guessing we will retain his rights ?

We better!

He is also a hand catcher, and as a coach I appreciate his fundamentals as well.  For me he is close to perfect, and is almost artistic.  Of course Zac has to find him, the other receivers have to run their routes to create the spatial relationships and of course the boys up front have to be winners. And the guy upstairs smiling, Buck Pierce, and staff ......love it.

Likely never see a better rookie season at receiver for Bombers

Schoen is good but it takes an MOP QB to throw the passes. If Schoen was in Edmonton or BC, he would probably be injured half way into the season already..

Oh, we can play that game  ;)

Collaros is a MOP QB but it takes an all-star OL to keep him upright and make the throw. If Collaros was in Ssk he?s probably retired already

Similar to Reilly in BC who went from all star QB to being sacked to death in BC.   It's a team game and no one player can win by himself.....our O-line provides very good protection for Zach who up until he signed with us was concussion prone.    He hasn't missed a game due to injury since signing with us.

As for Dalton, he has blossomed and a big part of his success came when Ellingson went down as he became the primary target.    Ellingson was hot at the beginning of the year and God only knows how our O would have looked if he had managed to stay healthy.
