Off to Dunedin Florida for some pre-season Blue Jays baseball. Liked what have seen so far out of this team.
Must be nice, have fun!
Have a good time watching. It can be really neat to see the players so close and especially the speed of a pitched ball.
My only time but memorable was in Sarasota, Fl., during a visit to my elder sister's place, that I saw a spring training game.
Got 3rd row tickets above Yankee's dugout. Jeter, Rodriguez were right in front of my beating heart . Super thrill.
Earlier I saw Rod Carew (was a huge fan) with Angels play season game vs the Jays in their original outdoor stadium before Roger's centre.
Again with some business tickets was up only bout 4 rows behind 1st base.
Even got a pic of him catching the ball tossed to 1st basemen when running off field
Many other neat memories seeing Twins games over the years
Games: March 9,11,13,15,18th. Box 105 right next to the Jays dugout. 2019 last year we went for spring training, will nice to be back. Golf, on the off days.
Looks like the Blue Jays should have a pretty good team this year, again.
First regular season game, March 30th in St. Louis. Home opener April 11th.
Nice to start the season with a win. Springer with 5 hits, Bo, 4, and Chapman with 3. Vlad with 2 hits, 3 RBI's.
maybe one season I will really try to get into baseball right from the start...playoff baseball is awesome..maybe when i retire...
I am glad there are fans like Pigskin who love the sport.
Day off for the Blue Jays. Back at it tomorrow in St. Louis.
What garbage scheduling, lol.
Day off already.
Today they have just 1 hit going into the 7th and down 3 - 0 to St. Louis
19 hits in the opener, 3 today. Blue Jays had runners on, just couldn't cash them in. With 10 walks, the Blue Jays should have had a better result. 4-1 St. Louis.
Really like some of the new rules. Time clock for the pitchers, keeps the game moving. I also like the new shift rule.
Chris Bassitt was terrible today. Chapman still swing a hot bat.
Solid game by the Blue Jays. Vlad and Varsho, both with 3 hits. Manoah 7IP/1Hit.
That's the Manoah I expected to see to start the season.
Nice to have a pitcher in the arsenal who can make this kind of impact. Still need to get those bats warmed up.
Really enjoyed the success Kikuchi had and loved the drag bunt, single, by Varsho yesterday
Another good outing for the Blue Jays. Gausman looked good. Vlad another 3 hits, Bo 2, Varsho also with 2 hits.
Bassitt had a nice game. Bo with a hot bat and a big blast for the win.
Bassit certainly kept it close and hooray the come from behind occurred.
Definitely like the consistent pace due to the pitch clock
As such, the batters don?t stand around fidgeting with their gloves, i.e., as they must get back in the box
Bo, Vlad, Chapman, still with hot bats. Springer also with 2 hits. Nothing from the bottom half of the lineup. Pitching was a little iffy in the middle innings. Home opener on April 11th.
Blue Jays looked terrible until the 6th inning. 6 in the 6th, 4 in the 7th.
Bo, Vlad, and Chapman still hot, Merrifield with a nice day at the plate.
Kiermaier 3H, 5 RBI's, Chapman also with 5 RBI's
Romano gives up 3 runs in the 9th. Sad.
Extra innings.
Crazy game. 12-11 Blue Jays.
Not Manoah's best outing. Jays batting are very hot right now. The catch by Kiermaier was a beauty.
Never saw anything till late night recap and what a no doubter performance by the Jays
Kiermaier?s catch was absolutely jump out of your seat eye popping
Jays had 5 homers - WOWEE
Manoah however is not looking like he trained well
Nice come back win for the Jays tonight.
My sportsnet app junked out on me, so I couldn't see it, but what a 9th!
Gotta keep winning to keep pace with the Rays, lol.
Rays are crazy successful at the moment but long season and hopefully Jays keep up and excell
Big test this weekend for the Jays. The undefeated Rays are a very good team.
Excellent win for the Blue Jays. Very good pitching, well with the exception of Yimi. Springers with a big lead off HR. Bo with a 5 hit night.
Another big win for the Blue Jays. Our pitching was very good. Best game I have seen Kikuchi pitch.
Manoah gets spanked. Jays with only 6 hits. Jays didn't look good.

Eeek.
Kinda hoped Manoah would close out the series. He's had a couple rough outings already.
Jays give up another 9 runs tonight. Bats are dead cold.
Nice win for the Jays tonight. Bassitt was lights out. Vlad and Chapman each with a home run.
Blue Jays relief pitching, terrible tonight.
Kikuchi pitches another gem yesterday. Brandon Belt's bat finally gets going. Vladi with another HR.
Manoah pitches 7 excellent innings in a 3-2 loss.
Gausman with a nice bounce back game. 7 very good innings. Vladi, Chapman, and Jansen, doing the damage with the bats today.
Blue Jays with another great pitching performance. Spring and Jansen with hot bats.
Wonderful pitching performance, again, by Kik., who is now 4-0. Jays really getting a good bang for their pitching $$ now
Manoah was good tonight, but not great. A few to many walks, and an early HR. However our relief pitching was excellent. Nice win.
Took the Jays, while only getting 3 hits total, 10 innings to score but HOORAY, they eke out a 1 - 0 victory
Gausman was terrific and the Jay relievers superb
Gausman with 13 K's. 19 in total.
Blue Jays have lost 4 in a row. Pitching hasn't been good over those 4 games.
Let's make it 5 in a row.
Blue Jays get some much need good pitching.
Blue Jays with back to back wins. Berrios had a nice outing, and 6 players with 2 hits.
Early in season but Jays offence cannot afford to lag behind in these games.
Many top teams are getting both pitching and hitting and 5-5 runs won?t work.
Presently just at the edge of falling out of Wildcard spot
Kikuchi with a very good day. Now 5-0. Jays also with good hitting again today. SWEEP.
Blue Jays with 2 very good wins over the Braves. Excellent in every phase of the game.
Bring out the brooms. Danny J. with a game winning two run single in the bottom of the 9th. with 2 out.
Blue Jays get beat on back to back night. Yankees stealing signals on Monday night. Last night there starting pitcher had some kind of sticky substance on his hands. He got the boot.
Bassitt with a great game tonight. Jays left lots of players base tonight.
another tremendous performance by Bassitt .
The batting average is poor but how timely Jansen's hitting is so far, up to 21 RBI's, is wonderful
The Jays got some pretty good pitching again last night, but other then Bo, bats were dead.
Jays on a bit of a slide. 1 and 5 in there last 6.
Jays haven't been playing well as of late. However the broke out in a big way 20-1 over the Rays. Jays with 27 hits. Every player that batted with at least 1 hit.
Watching sport channel this afternoon and caught a stat on Guerrero Jr. has only a single homerun in the last 84 plate appearances.
Suspect they have counted walks and HBP stats to come up with that or perhaps not
My gosh that is a terrible sub power performance
Vlad with three hits tonight.
Three singles.
Blue Jays with 3 in the 1st. inning and then some excellent pitching by Gausman.
Vlad with a double in the bottom of the 9th. to drive in the winning run.
Other then the 4 home runs today, a nice sweep by the Blue Jays.
Manoah, terrible. Looked like he was throwing batting practice.
Quote from: Pigskin on June 06, 2023, 04:18:22 AM

Ugh.
He was supposed to be the Ace and now he's just sabotaging the team. What happened!??!
Blue Jays send Manoah down, way down. Some league in Florida. I here the Goldeye were on there list. lol.
Really an important decision by the organization to isolate him away from reporters, hopefully, and booing "fans"
Blue Jays win 6 of the last 7.
They just showed that Vlad G., has zero home runs in all 31 Home games so far
So shocking how this gifted young man is battling what was very normal 2 seasons ago
Another solid win for the Jays. Excellent come back win.
Blue Jays played a pretty solid game. Ran into some very good pitching.
Had unbelievable chance to win in 9th and didn?t, then Kiermaier not getting the green light
to steal 3rd in the 10th was just wrong. Jays got a great outing from pitchers again
Jays release Bass.
Quote from: Pigskin on June 10, 2023, 04:39:03 PM
Jays release Bass.
Finally.
What a joke of a series of events.
Blue Jays blow up in the 8th inning.
Big come back win for the Blue jays today. CB8 with a big 3 run blast.
A stinker on Tuesday night for the Blue Jays, Wednesday night Berrios pitches a beauty.
Really was a gem by Berrios
Vlad has found his stroke. Jays have played pretty good over the last two weeks. A couple of stinkers in there but for the most part, some pretty good.
Blue Jays pitching a little iffy again today. Good push back, bad mistake on the base paths.
Jays played well tonight
Key hits sure took care of the offensive side and hooray for the majority, exclude the 3run dinger, of pitches
Manoah to pitch Friday vs the Tigers

Wow big test
Nice double header sweep by the Blue Jays.
Nice outing by Manoah tonight, in a blowout by the Jays. 6 innings, 5 hits, 1ER, 8 Ks. No walks.
Tigers pitchers throw a combined no hitter, in a 2-0 win.
Quote from: Pigskin on July 08, 2023, 10:52:52 PM
Tigers pitchers throw a combined no hitter, in a 2-0 win.
Good ball game but their pitching was incredible
Jansen with a 2 run blast to tie it up in the 9th.
Nice extra inning win by the Blue Jays.
Terrific, unexpected last 2 innings
Vlad wins the home run derby.
Congrats to Vlad for banging them out, cause wowee it was competitive
Romano pulled from All-star game. Tightness in his back, hope this will not be long term.
Final some Blue Jays baseball. Diamondbacks are a pretty decent team, could be a good series.
Big 7th inning for the Jays. Berrios was very good. Every player that batted, had at least one hit.
It's be nice to see Guerrero go on a bit of a run now.
Nice outing for Bassitt. Good win for the Jays.
Be real nice to sweep on Sunday
Nice play by Mayza.
Jays blow it open in the 8th.
Nice sweep.
Sounds like Ryu could return later this season.
Looks like Gausman is out of the line up for awhile with an injury.
Blue Jays got B slapped. Manoah had a rough night.
It really wasn't uplifting on so many levels and Manoah was a big UGH
Another terrible no show for the batters while Berrios, etc., did their part
Vlad G. can be so stupid at times with his pitch selection.
Tonight he swung and easily was out on the 1st pitch 3 out of 4 plate appearances.
Nice win for the Blue Jays today. Bassitt with an excellent game.
Well the Blue Jays let another great pitching performance slip away late in this game. X-Jay burns us in the 9th inning.
Our bullpen was the problem today.
Jays with a big win. Manoah not great, but he also wasn't terrible. Walks seem to be his problem right now.
Nice 11th inning for the Jays. Pitching battle the whole game, and then some iffy pitching by LA in the 11th and the Jays make them pay.
Wow, the Blue Jays sure blew that one. Up 4 in the bottom of the 9th. Swanson did not look good.
Quote from: Pigskin on July 26, 2023, 02:42:29 PM

What? They lost?
Gave up 4 in the 9th. Couldn't score in the 10th, LA did, game over.
Not a problem today. Jays spanked them. Very hot day in LA today.
Not the best road trip for the Jays. In three of the games they lost, they were leading in the 9th inning.

Has Romano been playing?
No the last two games. Yesterday didn't need him, the games before they were resting him.
Nice win by the Blue Jays tonight. Very solid game. Romano looked like he injured his back again. Ryu back on August 1st.
Ramano on the 15 day IR. Lower back.
Another solid win for the Jays.
Ouch !!! That headshot pitch by Manoah certainly had the Angel batter in trouble so fast. Hope he is able to heal properly.
Yes indeed, a nice victory with a couple quiet contributors going deep
I really like Cabrera. Very good middle reliefer.
Can't expect to win if RISP are not being hit in. Waste of decent pitching
Lot's of base runs, couldn't cash them in. 10th inning was sad. 2 men on with no one out, only score on run.
Blue Jays pickup Hicks. A very good right hand reliever.
In theory, the Hicks trade may prove to be the best pitching add on in MLB
Bo hurt his knee tonight
Another night when we left to many runners on base. BBs injury could be a big blow to this team.
Rumour that the Jays may trade for SS., Du Jong from the Cards. He's quite decent defensively but can't replace Bo's bat
Not to many players can replace Bo's bat. Hearing it's Inflammation of the patellar tendon.
Not a great start for Ryu. Blue Jays left Ryu in one batter to long. No O, and relief pitching was terrible. Spring is what 0 for 34 now?
A very good outing by Kikuchi. Spring finally gets a hit. Blue Jays win 4-1, with only 3 hits.
Truly still shocking to me how the offense struggles. Yes, hooray for the Springman in getting that hit.
Quote from: Jockitch on August 03, 2023, 06:53:25 PM

Baltimore out hitting us 42-16 so far in this series. Bases loaded again in the 6th and we only get 1 run.
Nice outing for Manoah. Jays bats came alive tonight, with 5 home runs. Nice win.
Schneider on fire with the bat.
Wow, bad base running error by Boston.
Solid pitching and some good hitting by the Blue Jays, another nice road win.
Springer with 4 hits. The Blue Jays need Springer getting on base.
Blue Jays bats on fire again today. Schneider with another HR. They also had excellent pitching.
What a tremendous sweep for the Jays.
Oh my gosh, how young Schneider came thru with great offensive numbers. Others contributed finally in back to back days
Blue Jays with very good pitching again. Hoping Ryu is okay. Bats did enough to get us another win.

What happened with Ryu? I saw some people mad at the umpire?
Ryu got hit with a line drive in the side of the knee. Still made the play but couldn't continue. Sounded like a bruised knee at this point.
Apparently Bo is working out. Which is great new, however with the way this team is playing right now, there is no need to rush him back.
Blue Jays with great pitching, and 9 hits, but lose 1-0.

:'( :'( :'(
Well another very good night for our pitchers. Springer with a 3 hit night in a 1-0, win.
Blue jays lose another close one. 4-3. Jays had 10 hits and left 10 runners on base. Schneider's hot bat has cooled off.
Blue Jays beat by the Cubs 6-2. Berrios was terrible 6 runs in 4 innings. 2 HR, 9 hits.
Nice day for Bautista and family. But, another lose for the Blue Jays.
Nice outing for Ryu. Jays bats finally come alive. Witt with another big day at the plate.
Caught the ceremony for Jose B. and really felt that it was a terrific presentation ----- real 1st class by the Jay organization.
17 games in 17 days, enjoy you day off boys.
Kikuchi with a very good game. Nice to see Romano back. 4 hits in a 2-1 victory.
Bo with a very good game in AAA.
Not a good night for Gausman.
Won't be reviewing past scores but seems the Jays have been in a lotta 1-0 games
Hicks gives up the 9th inning walk off HR. Jays have a couple of players returning today. Might help there O.
Blue Jays with a nice road win. Some pretty good pitching. 9 hits, and DS with another HR.
Blue Jays, showing so power today. 10-3 win, 12 hits, 5 HRs.
Big win for the Blue Jays tonight. 3 in the 10th was the difference. Jays with 11 wins in there last 15 road games.
Richards blow up in the 8th inning. Blue Jays bats go cold. Good game until the 8th.
the finish was UGH but if you don't score you just can't win
Another lose for the Blue Jays. Had enough runs on, just couldn't cash them in.
Blue Jays O is alive, today. lol
Real nice day for young Schneider and relief pitching.
A Win is a win and wowee do the Jays ever need multiple games like this to reach a Wild Card place at least.
Hard to believe but they still have nobody with 20 homers . Such a terrible, inconsistent hitting year for too many Jay " Stars ".
Well that was sad. Jackson wasn't very good in the 11th. Injuries starting to pile up again for the Blue Jays. Bo, (legs), Chappy, (finger), Swanson, (back).
That was a terrible result Certainly am off their bandwagon
Jays with 21 runs in the last 3 games. Tonight was solid game by the Jays. Good pitching, some timely hitting.
Another very outing by Blue Jays starting pitching. O with another 7 runs. Big win, need to keep pace.
Jays with 17 hits, and 13 runs. However Green did not look good in the 9th.
Tough one tonight. 11 hit, 7 runs. Pitching and a couple of errors was the difference.
Blue Jays needed that win.
Keep the wins coming. Took 10 inning but it's another W.
And, another win tonight. Keep the Ws coming.
the pitching of Bassitt was consistently good and a 5 run inning worked out well for the Jays

Well the streak is over.
Well, Bo is back and looking good. Romano with a rough 9th, but Blue Jays still win.
Such a great pitching performance by Gaus
And the Blue Jays win again.
Blue Jays get some good starting pitching. Play a little small ball, and capitalize on a few wild pitches, to win another one. 3 weeks left in the season.

Entering the tough part of the schedule now. Gonna be a hard close to the season.
Good game to watch, wrong team won. Blue Jays relief pitching has to be better.
Recent hiccups, to put it mildly, by the relief team, should be a concern.
Who would have thought that the Jays, this season, would not be major homerun hitting threats ...... definitely not myself
Terrible pitching, but also can't win if you don't score.
Pretenders as per usual annual affair. GM and staff are a bunch of losers.
UGH
Nice win for the Jays tonight. Pretty much a must win. VG with HRs in back to back nights. About time.
Another must win, and Vladi with another HR.
Tic Tac Toe, that's three in a row. And, are back in the Wild Card.
Let's make it 4 in a row. Jays with another solid win.
Another big win for the Blue Jays. That's 5 in a row. Jays pitching has been excellent.
The thing that is annoying me right now is the jays are so hit and miss. I am trying to plan a **** road trip to see a wildcard game, and it is **** near impossible right now. LOL
Tight race, it's going to go down to the last game of the season.
Tough L tonight. Cole had a excellent game for NY.
Nice bounce back game tonight. Excellent pitching, and some timely hitting.
Ryu getting beat up today. Jays made a great come back, only to have Romano blow it in the 9th.
What a big win for the Jays. Jays bats are heating up. Vladi with a couple of bombs. Bo with 2 hits, and love the way Varsho plays every game.
Blue Jays with only 6 games left. A 6 game home stand to end the season. Jays have been playing some very good ball lately, lets hope this continues.
At home
Jays (87-69) 7-3 last 10
3 against Yankees (78-77) 5-5 last 10 (eliminated)
3 against the Rays (95-62) 5-5 last 10 (Clinched a spot, but could still beat Baltimore for the division)
So, might still be meaningful games right to the wire.
Mini world series week for the Jays with these 6 games left Cheering that it meshes in the final days
Start of a big series tonight. Come on Blue Jays.
Not a good way to start this home stand. No bats, and Romano gives up another 9th inning HR.
Wrong time for the Jays bats to go cold.
Jays in the past 2 games looked so incapable of creating offence
So, they needed to win 50% of the remaining games to get into the playoffs, and half of those games were against a bad yankees team at home.
Now they need to win 75% of games, and 75% of those are against the Rays who are ahead of them in the standings....
What a difference 2 days make.
That was a good win for the Blue Jays. Left two many runners on base, but the pitching was excellent.
Magic number of 2
Bassitt was just so brilliant to watch and certainly happy to hear the 200 innings became his personal high for a season.
HOORAY the offence came thru
Jays bats were very good tonight. One more win.
Not sure why they didn't play a little small ball with Kirk up. Bo would have been on 2nd. with one out when KK came up.
Tough loss. Blue Jays left to many runners on base.
agree with the thought of small ball
Tampa threw pitchers early that should have been hit more and then the floor fell out
Blue Jays are in. Thank you Rangers. Nice to be able to rest a few players tomorrow.
Nice that they squeaked in.
I expect a quick exit against play-off calibre pitching.
The Buffalo Bison's getting slapped by the Rays today.
Well it looks like we are heading to Minnesota. 1st game, Tuesday at 3:38.
Gausman not having a great outing. 2 innings, over 40 pitches, 4 walks, and a HR. Minni up 2-0.

3 game series. all in Minni. if needed, and the Twins are the home team for all three games. Sucks we don't get a home game if we split the first 2.
Wow, Chappy was close to making this 4-3 Jays.
Just sat down to watch my first baseball of the year.
Go Jays!!
Should have played small ball in the 8th, with a runner on 2nd, with none out.
Berrios starting for the Jays in game 2. Sounds like Bassitt backing him up, if needed.
BJsin the playoffs. Yuck BJs Are gonna BJ And not rise to the occasion. Maybe that insane celebration for the playoff berth limp in was a bit much. ::)
What a bunch of turkeys I beckon.
Diamondback's
Twins
Rangers
Phillies
All win game one.
Solid first inning for the Jays. Need to cash those runners in. Sonny Gray is a tough pitcher.
Leaving to many runners on base.
Berrios pitching a beauty, so far.
JS, plays the analytics, and it bites him.
Rays are the first team out.
Vladi, are you kidding me. Can't make that mistake on the bases.
Among a plethora of poor maneuvers in this game.
Pulling Berrios was stupid.
Good game, we needed to cash in some of those base runners. Very entertaining year.

He was not on the private plan in question. No one knows anything.
Through all of this insanity, the only thing we can safely say is none of the insiders have any sources on this.
Apparently he has signed with the Dodgers.
$700 million over ten years.
Dodgers score the major MLB free agent. As a Jay fan I was certainly hoping for Toronto (just in baseball) to get the prize.
I know from the beginning it was always going to be the Dodgers and I don't really believe it was ever in question.
But we sure got taken for a ride there for a minute.

This stuff needs to illegal. Some teams just make a mockery of the league. Like Tampa Bay suddenly having an all-star coming off the IR every year when the play-offs hit when they have no cap room to add a player. Just garbage.
