Kyries was a name long in the CFL... 12 seasons as a player and a whack ton of dressed games.  He was fun to watch and a big part of that solid MTL D.

I don't recall much dirt, but I'll take your word for it.  In any case, no worse than Simoni, who probably is going in HoF.

Good for the Als making this happen.  Super long term IMP players, especially impact ones, deserve recognition.

Well said, exactly how I feel, it's great the league does things like this.  You need to respect the players that had long successful careers.  I knew other like minded folk would like this thread.

I remember him first signing here, but couldn't cross the border because he had an outstanding warrant for trying to drown his girlfriend - amazingly almost 20 years ago now.

He ended up being a good player for us (then played a few years for the Bengals) before coming back to join the Als - but definitely a person who it was hard to cheer for.

He was a very physical player who played on the edge and often crossed it with hits to the head. On a number of players. I thought that was common knowledge.

Hebert was the definition of dirty player.  He makes Marino look palatable.

He ended Cornish?s career with a blindside clothesline.  ?Lead with the crown of his helmet? should have been his XFL nameplate.  He?s the reason the rules are so strict now and the emphasis on player safety I.e. he?s the antithesis of player safety.

Lookup the hit on Daniels.  He lead with his head and had his elbow out.  He didn?t even feign an attempt to tackle.

His XFL name plate would be headhunter. Dirtiest most remorseless player to ever play in the cfl in my books

Hats off to any player who has the skill and physical ability to play for 12 seasons.

Ya you're jogging my memory a little bit, and some of his antics are coming back to me.  Some of this stuff is like a decade ago!

However, I still think Simoni is far worse.

Not a popular opinion: but that Cornish hit I still don't see much wrong with, sorry.  I'm a fan of old-school football and an arm to the head of a running RB is not a big deal to me.  Clothesline-esque but not a textbook clothesline because he's coming in from the side.  It just looked so bad because it was in the open field.  If he went a foot lower no one would say boo, and he also might have whiffed on the tackle and given up a TD.  And I didn't see any facemasking, which of course would change my opinion if present.

By that time Cornish was getting concussions so regularly that any jarring hit would knock him out.  I still remember one of his last plays, stumbling around trying to get up.  You could argue he shouldn't have been playing that long.  If Cornish jumps up from that hit like nothing happened it's probably 15 instead of 25, and no fine (my Cody School Of Writhing theory).

Going way back in my memory I think there were some other Kyries hits that were (to me) more dirty.  But overall I was a pretty big fan of that awesome MTL D, with Cox, et al.

Still, give Kyries his due cred for longevity and impact.  Simoni will be made a saint in HAM when he retires, and his hit on Zach was inexcusable, far worse than Kyries.

With concussion awareness, the game of football has thankfully evolved to a state where any blow to the head is penalized and it should be. Those armchair football players who are fans of blows to the head, obviously have never recieved any, as they are as dangerous as it gets in sports.

Brian Jack "Allegedly" murdered his wife, was tried and acquitted, Garry Sawatzky was a former MC gang member, who stabbed and murdered a person at the Old Pinawa Dam in 1985 and was sentenced to 2nd degree murder.

Brian Jack is a famous case. There is a book about it

three trials, numerous appeals and two appearances before the Supreme Court of Canada.
https://www.jgshillingford.com/product/trials-and-errors-the-people-vs-brian-gordon-jack/

Well known that he was an expert bush man. And he called in "anonymously" (or so he thought) the location of his missing wife's car outside a Sals.

On the field he was a tight end with good hands. Played in Montreal too. don't recall any dirty play.
