Winnipeg Blue Bombers Unveil 108th Grey Cup Championship Rings

WINNIPEG, MB., May 29, 2022 - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are proud to unveil the 2021 Grey Cup championship rings made by Canadian jeweller Baron Championship Rings.

The club's iconic 'W' logo sits atop the Grey Cup on the top of the ring surrounded by a 10K yellow gold halo engraved with "Grey Cup Champions". The bottom section of the Grey Cup includes 33 diamonds to represent the points scored by the club in the 33-25 overtime victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Placed above the wrapping on both edges of the Grey Cup are "108" to signify the 108th Grey Cup and "Winnipeg".

The outer edge of the face is lined with a total  of 12 sapphire stones representing the organization's total championship wins and is complemented by the title of 'Blue Bombers' and 'Back-to-back'.

Both shoulders of the ring feature intricate details, with one shoulder displaying the player's name, position and number in diamonds over a field background, while the opposite side features the most unique and detailed etching of a real photo of fans taken during the 2021 season, framed by the IG Field arches, as a salute to the CFL?s loudest fans.

The 2021 season record is etched on the outer shank of the ring. Finally, the ring is finished with an engraved personalized message unique to each player on the inside of the ring and with the final score of the 108th Grey Cup etched above "FIFO" and "For The W".

Baron Championship Rings - the same company that helped design and make the 2019 Grey Cup rings for the club - created the rings with the help of a design committee that included linebacker Adam Bighill, receiver Nic Demski, defensive end Willie Jefferson and Rheanne Marcoux, the Blue Bombers Director of Creative & Content.

The pendants and the fan renown ring will do very well. The ring was something I had asked the bombers front office about. The replica rings are very nice, but far to big to wear everyday.

I think the bomber and Baron have done an excellent job.

Wow, I didn't think it would be possible to outdo the '19 rings, but these ones are incredible.  I really like the yellow gold.  And the laser-etch details are stunning.

The players are going to love this.

And for some reason it never clicked for me that the '21 was won with 33 points (again).  What strange luck.  Another reason they should have kept 33.  Should have made a big deal about this.

For the threepeat I want the blue W made up of dozens of small blue sapphires, even if it makes the W oversized and slightly off-colored.

Got my replica, pretty nice, thought it would be a lot chintzier.. but it has heft...  and they had the 90 seasons / 107th grey cup medallions & pins...

Yes the replica ring is actually quite impressive. Sure the diamonds don?t sparkle the same as the real thing but I am very impressed. A really nice replica. Another nice touch by the Bombers for the fans.

And the whole fan fest was very well done for the kids. Hats off to the Bombers.

I guess I am in the minority but I have always found these championship rings to be tacky, gaudy awful.

No, you are exactly right.. which makes them perfect...

Not to mention the rings have been awarded for more than 60 years...which also makes them tradition.

They are supposed to be larger than life and outrageous.  They are supposed to be something you really wouldn't / couldn't wear all the time.

Don't compare it to a ring you'd buy at People's: compare it to the other GC rings over the years from other teams.  I think WFC has been nailing these designs.

The 2019 ring didn't have much to it.

I posted a humourous tweet that I made about the irony of making "Milt" watch over a GC ring (which he never had the opportunity to win), and then I was shocked/amused when the actual Milt Stegall "liked" the tweet.

Went to get my rings this afternoon. Got home with my package and opened it up and there was 4 rings, and a deluxe fan ring top pendant. Are they also handing out pendants?
