Title: Lapo
Post by: Blue In BC on October 18, 2026, 03:31:57 PM
How much does he earn as a TSN panelist? Is a possible candidate to return as our OC in 2027? He could take on a few multiple roles as either a primary or secondary voice. Receivers, RB coach and ST's.

Any thoughts on other possible candidates that might be available?

Love to see LaPo back but I think his ambition was to be a HC and that has faded away with time.  Watch the Andrew harris interview with Strev, even being a RB coach involves 12-14 hour days 7 days a week for some crazy reason, plus the pay sucks in the lower branches.

He is the head coach of the Canadian men's Olympic flag football team. He is going to remain in that role through 2028.

Probably a great gig, good pay and travel the world on the tax-payers dime. Seriously wonder why government pays for these high level athletic programs, are amateur athletics worth supporting with tax dollars beyond the grass roots level?  The whole Olympics thing doesn't have the allure it once had.

Ya, no one brained-it like Lapo.  Condell is ok, but he's no genius whiz like Lapo.  He does set things up a bit, intra-game and season-long, but not much.  He's definitely getting out-brained by other coords on both sides of the ball.

And ya, Lapo won't do anything until his olympic dream is satisfied.  And that may be "never".  He might chase that dragon until he's too old to walk.

Not much chance LaPo comes back to the Peg. I think if he wanted to come back, he would have been back already last season. I don't think any sensible OC will want to be here unless we have a better QB situation. Collaros is clearly almost done.
