Afraid to jinx it. I'll answer the poll on Sunday, hehe.

Yeah fair enough, I don't believe in jinx but I won't spook others juju either and I respect your decision, maybe we need Zach dolls but not a voodo one, therapy ones that we subject all Brady's modalities LOL Ok wait we poke him but they are acupuncture needles LOL
All that said anyone that votes on Sunday gets less poll points LOL, early birds get bonus marks ;)
This is like what Neil says don't spook the horse ;)
He only lasted 1 and part of another game after missing 4 games earlier. The bigger question is can the OL prevent him from getting hurt again.
O'Shea is being tight lipped again but does he think we're stupid? Once he practices early on the 6 game IR, he has to moved to a different part of the roster. That commits to not taking the SMS exemption, so it appears he will play.
Otherwise, why let him practice.
If he plays and we win, he continues to play until we've locked up a crossover game. A win on Saturday might lock that up.
So I voted 2 more games.
If they lose to Calgary and get eliminated from the playoffs I hope that's the last we see of Zach and they give one game to Elgersma and one to Perkins. Dru Brown has the off season to seriously figure out how to turn his career around, but I expect him back.
Hurt in warmups should have been an option

We said no negative juju

Zach wants to play in 2027. And given the codependent relationship O'Shea seems to have with him, O'Shea won't say no to him. It will require Walters or Miller stepping in. But then we are left with Dru, who has been quite mediocre this year. And I don't think Elgersma is anywhere near ready. Perkins is great at short yardage, but IMO will flop as an actual QB. Pretty bleak for us on the QB front right now.

Bleak is overstating the negative. We have a couple in the wings waiting and a couple might have had their wings clipped. Bleak was the decade that came before our mini dynasty. This is something to worry about but bleak it is not. Perkins is a wild card, we have zero idea what he is. Taylor is a project. Brown will win you some games. Zach we have no idea what will happen.

Overstated in the positive. I think we need a poll :D

Sure make one lol
Its not bleak and its not great. The answer is often in the middle.
I'm neutral on our QB room headed to next year, too early to get doom and gloom.
I love Zach and think he can still win... If he starts and finishes games. But he doesn't. Any game is about 50 50 he'll not finish. And then he'll miss 2 to 4 weeks.
You can't win a season like that. It's impossible. It'll be a miracle if we make the playoffs, and an even bigger one if we win an East road semi final.
And it can't improve, unless maybe you spend obscene amounts on the world best OL. And your #2 will never get good either because he's not on consistently. And to top it all off the 2 to 4 game stretches mean you mostly never capture the sms savings!
It's a recipe for disaster. So it should not continue. I have no idea what we can do instead. But repeating this next year is a bad idea.

It's pretty bleak when we could miss the playoffs for the 1st time since 2019. We're not exactly suffering due to injuries to players that would be starters causing that downturn.
The team has aged out and several starters are not what they used to be. Replacements are not obvious at the moment.
Does anyone really believe Zach Collaros is going to go on a run and beat out all (any?) of the good quarterbacks right now down the stretch and into the player?
There is probably an almost zero percent chance of that if he makes it through the games or not.

It was suggested that our QB situation is bleak, it is not imo.
Zach has a decent chance to play a few more games for us this season, which is supported by this poll. We have a reasonable chance to make the playoffs. Zach and this team can beat anyone in this league.
My odds are:
50% we make playoffs
25% get to round two
10% win round 2
If we get to the big show it's 25% chance of victory roughly
All the above are much higher than zero. Place your bets! :)
Why don't they put a padded safety helmet on Zach as it will help protect the head a lot more

He's well past that point. Love the guy, but he should retire. He might want to play next year, but please not with the Bombers. Far to many games missed over the last 2 seasons. If we win on Saturday and ZC8 can stay healthy, he plays till we are eliminated from a playoff spot.

His TD-INT ratio is back to around 2-1 after being 1-1 the last couple of years. If he played all 18, we're probably in a better situation than we are now.
The problem is his health and, no; unfortunately I don't believe he can stay healthy and productive for a 3 game run.
The Stamps have a good DL and Hicks is a stud. Bombers are making a change at center. Can we win the LOS, get Brady going early and keep Collaros from getting hit often?
Can our DL create more pressure on VAJ with changes on their OL? Games are won in the trenches as they say.
The game will be determined by the ability of the OL to protect Zach, 2nd our ability to get to Adams and 3rdly the OLs ability to open things up for the king

We should have made a change at centre a long long time ago. The guy stinks, I'd aruge Koko was better but that ship has sailed so why bother. We need to rebuild our entire left side of the O line, LT, LG and centre, all should be punted.

don't get better by deletion unless the addition is >
The OL has been an issue but the solution lies somewhere between a full punt and a retool LOL, maybe just a drop kick

The last time the Bombers missed the playoffs was 2015. Disagree the team has aged out, there has been a lot of turn over and there are less than a handful of older players left and other than Zach and Stan they are not chronic factors in the downturn.
You might not respect Kyrie or Nichols anymore but for the most part they still play their positions as competently as those around them. Replacement is obviously in order for 4 of the 6 oldsters left but that won't effect the trajectory much until they solve the QB issue.

I was speaking of the transition point after we acquired Collaros. Last year we finished as the crossover team. This year you might call that our goal of hope.
We've had a bunch of QB's come and go but didn't find the next QB to develop. That's the position we're in heading into 2027. You are correct that the solution has to happen with finding the right QB. Bombers have not got a record of doing that and nothing in the past 12 years of actual development. Unless Brown lives up to earlier expectations. That's a giant question but with our OL, it's not helping.
Add in Bryant, Nichols and Wilson that's a lot of aging out. Neufeld in not getting any younger and his replacement is not clearly on the horizon.
Demski has trouble even practising let alone surviving an entire game.
Jefferson is still productive but is being used less often as he ages as well.
That's seems like an aged out roster. We have a few new bright rookies but Reese, Fletcher and even Williams are not yet dominant players. Maybe Williams but it's a small list of those that may be the "next " top dawg.
Everyone of our key offensive players have missed practice and game time- Collaros, demski, oliviera and Wilson , that's not good. Our 2 top NAT offensive players and kramdi another key NAT all missed games and that affectation so in addition to Jefferson , Bryant and nichols that are aging out and the 4 players always injured we have half of our lineup either slow or hurt that ain't good and it's only going to get worse next year.

I don't get it, why would the injury situation get worse next year? It's a new ball of wax.
