absolutely, he was on D yesterday and made several knock down plays....something that is sorely missed in our secondary. Probably the best pure athlete we have on our team, yes, play him!!!!

I said no. Specialization is the way to go.  A db should be easier to find than an elite returner.

I wouldn't play Deatrick Nichols on defense. I don't really care who who try instead to make it happen.

The days of paying returners minimum are over, the good ones are legitimate offensive weapons, pay him right and treat him like a star and he might stick around for another 5 years.

You would think but where the heck are they?? Until then, play your most athletic and fastest player on defense and watch him make play for 2/3 of the game!!

In injury relief, yes of course he can play.  He also seems good at it and MOS has said how he's a keen learner and wants to expand his game.

The problem with using him on every down is if he has to do run stop or big hits on larger RECs.  That's body wear that you really don't want your league-best returner to take.

The DB's are forced to make way too many tough tackles in Younger's defence, makes you wonder where all of those LB's are when needed to stop the run.

Because they are always stuffing gaps.

Paying him and playing him are 2 different issues. I agree he should be paid accordingly although IDK exactly what that amount should be.

The value of returners may change going forward in 2027. There will be fewer missed FG returns and even punt returns will change with the shorter field  and change with the rouge.

Most of that is TBD. I'm not sure if we see more K/O's go into and out of the end zone with no potential returns ( like the NFL ). Where do K/O's get kicked from on the shorter field?

Regardless, pay Vaval the appropriate amount.

Playing on defence has it's risk rewards issue. On one hand it gives us a ratio advantage which we aren't using anyway be adding another DB as a DI. So there is that question. I have suggested adding Womack as a 2nd returner and back up receiver would be more beneficial than adding Hazen.

That would allow Vaval to be rotated in or used more in SOME defensive sets. That would also provide both returner and receiver depth.

In MOS's mind. He'll look to add another LB given the chance.

Could have fooled me. Rankin still rushed for 100 yards.

The gap they are attempting to stuff should be the gap the running back is coming through!

I don't see the reason to limit a high end player to a handful of snaps per game.

He is much too valuable to risk him getting injured on defense.

Why is he different from any other player? He's at risk if he plays more than 10 snaps but others have to play half the game?

You put the ball in the hands of your best players as much as possible.
