Title: Diego Pavia
Post by: towelie on July 23, 2026, 09:00:30 PM
Not sure this deserves it's own thread... but the Ravens just released Diego Pavia pre-camp.

We added him to our neg list last year... Wonder if he's a guy that could end up here eventually.

I'm not overly high on him with his limited arm strength and pretty small stature. But he can certainly be creative and make plays outside the pocket. Could be an interesting guy to have a look at later on

Not someone I ever expect to do anything in the CFL. I'm much higher on Druski and Gerzy.

No harm at bringing him and taking a look. One player I would bring in for a look is OL Dejon Allen who was just released from the BC Lions. He is a two time all Canadian and plays right tackle. He could be the answer at right tackle and move Broxton to left tackle.

With the crowded QB room the Bombers have, he would be what Fran Frascilla would say "2 years from 2 years from playing".

Seems like he was released because he's not the answer at RT.

He's talented and is never going to make an NFL roster. He'd be an unusual quarterback in some ways but in other ways he's not so different than a lot of other US guys who have incredible talent who are just too far removed from the NFL mould for their position.

Plus he's probably made as much money as most CFL players through their whole career with his NIL money.

He was probably on a pretty pricey contract having played for two GC winning Argo teams plus winning the Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman Award in 2023.  Unless he has long-term injury concerns he'll likely find a soft landing spot now that he's shed that contract.

Pavia: if a neg list player wants to come up to the CFL (like actively does it like Major did), and the neg list holder doesn't want him, is he then free to shop to all teams?

I believe that he has to be offered a minimum contract first, which he rejects and then that makes him free to be picked by anybody else. Otherwise he's stuck.

There are a few things that you don't like to see in a QB, but he would be our best prospect in the QB room in my opinion. At least the guy with the highest ceiling.

Him being 5ft 9in tall was something that really brought his stock down.

Solid arm, great accuracy on deep balls.
