DeVonte Dedmon to make Montreal Alouettes debut against Tiger-Cats
by 3Down Staff July 25, 2026
The Montreal Alouettes will have DeVonte Dedmon in the lineup when they host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Sunday evening. The team released its official depth chart on Saturday morning.
The veteran return specialist signed with the team in January following his release from the Ottawa Redblacks. He started the season on the six-game injured list with a hamstring injury.
The native of Williamsburg, Va. was named the CFL's Most Outstanding Special Teams Player in 2021. Over 42 career regular-season CFL games, he has returned 128 kickoffs for 3,347 yards, 151 punts for 1,985 yards, 10 missed field goals for 290 yards, and scored six return touchdowns.
The 30-year-old has also caught 25 passes for 226 yards, rushed 18 times for 88 yards, and scored two offensive touchdowns.
Phillip Brooks III and Mario Alford shared the return duties during Dedmon's stint on the six-game injured list, though both players have since been released.
The Alouettes have also listed T.J. Guy as a starter at defensive end opposite Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund.
The 23-year-old signed with the team earlier this month after a collegiate career at the University of Michigan. The six-foot-four, 246-pound defender made 66 total tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, and one interception over 48 games to help the Wolverines win a National Championship in 2023.
Montreal has made a few other roster changes, moving linebacker Donovan Manuel to the reserve roster and quarterback Anthony Brown Jr. and running back Liam Talbot to the practice roster.
Terry Wilson has been promoted from the practice roster to serve as the club's third-string quarterback behind Davis Alexander and Dustin Crum. Running back Rushawn Baker and receiver Alexander Hollins have also been added to the active roster in depth roles, though Hollins is listed as a game-time decision.
Najee Murray, the team's longtime strong-side linebacker, is also listed as a game-time decision. He was limited in practice this week due to a hamstring injury.
The Montreal Alouettes (5-1) will host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (3-3) at Percival Molson Stadium on Sunday, July 26 with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EDT. The Tiger-Cats narrowly beat the Toronto Argonauts this past week, while the Alouettes completed their home-and-home sweep of the Calgary Stampeders.
The weather forecast in Montreal calls for a high of 26 degrees and a 20 percent chance of rain. The game will be broadcast on TSN and RDS in Canada, CBS Sports Network in the United States, and CBS Sports Network internationally. Radio listeners can tune in on the Ticats Audio Network in Hamilton or TSN 690 (English) or 99.5 Montreal (French) in Montreal.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats to start Brayden Swartout against Alouettes
by 3Down Staff July 25, 2026
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats will have American offensive lineman Brayden Swartout in the starting lineup when they visit the Montreal Alouettes on Sunday night. The team released its official depth chart on Saturday morning.
The six-foot-seven, 305-pound blocker signed with the team in 2025 but didn't see any regular-season action, spending time on the practice roster and one-game injured list. He was placed on the reserve roster after training camp this year and was subsequently moved to the practice roster.
The 22-year-old played collegiately at Central Michigan University, where he made 36 starts at right tackle. He was named second-team All-Mid-American Conference in 2023 and 2024.
Swartout will start at right tackle in place of Quinton Barrow, who has been placed on the six-game injured list with a hand injury.
The Tiger-Cats have also made a change at field-side halfback, where Devodric Bynum will start in place of Quavian White. The 27-year-old has recorded three defensive tackles over three regular-season games this year, making one start at field-side cornerback.
White has been moved to the one-game injured list with a hamstring injury. He was a non-participant in practice this week.
Hamilton made a few other roster changes this week, activating defensive lineman Mitchell Agude from the reserve roster, defensive lineman Charbel Dabire from the one-game injured list, and defensive back Ronan Horrall from the practice roster.
In corresponding moves, the Tiger-Cats have placed receiver Tyler Ternowski (shoulder) on the one-game injured list, and defensive lineman Aamarii Notice and linebacker Craig Young on the practice roster.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats (3-3) will visit the Montreal Alouettes (5-1) at Percival Molson Stadium on Sunday, July 26 with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EDT. The Tiger-Cats narrowly beat the Toronto Argonauts this past week, while the Alouettes completed their home-and-home sweep of the Calgary Stampeders.

TSN camera zooms in on the far side of the field when the punt is fielded on the near side ::)
Big punt return for Wooden 100 yards (I think)
Nice TD Mr. Wilson
Why is Terry Wilson doing short yardage instead of Crumm?
Alexander's completion streak with no interceptions comes to an end at aprox. 336 which is a CFL record.
Totally impressed with how well Ford is playing at Qb, massive improvement and he's got the Ticats ahead of Montreal at home and that's saying something!!!
Stupid play by McManus feeble knee to opponent gets him kicked out

Well, he is keeping the TiCats in it and is not giving the game away.
But, the TiCats' offence didn't score any points in the 1st half.
One pt. game with 8 minutes left, Ti-Cats may be mounting am upset.
Hamilton insists on giving this game away. What a terrible pass. Oh well, helps us with the cross over.

Rourke has to miss the rest of the season for us to crossover.
Travis Theis is so good, Stevie Scott might have a hard time getting his job back.

He has nearly 290 yards over the last 2 games.
That's the thing with import RB, they are literally a dime a dozen and they produce.

Because Crum is being groomed as legit #2, like a Powell. And T.Wilson is a proven 90%+ SY QB.
Good for Terry. I'm glad he has a job again. He was never a bad guy, and did what was asked. He'll eventually be the Uncle Rico of the CFL: if only he had made that TD attempt in '24 GC and MOS kept him in instead of doomed Zach.
Addtl: lol, right after I write this Wilson botches a 3rd&1. Well, he's mostly good on SY. Gotta hand it to Katsantonis! What a great NAT FS.

So dumb. If you're gonna get DQ, then make it count. Go over to the opponent QB and break some bones. Don't half-kick a hoggie in the pads/helmet!
Maybe there's a reason we've never gone after McManis in FA...

Until they don't! Rapidly replaced and thrown away.

Thinking the exact same thing. Definitely keep the hot hand. Might they trade Scott? I guess he's on ELC, so why not keep him as depth. Theis is known for getting injured.
So strange. Ford ran a lot more in the last game. They had a ton more designed runs drawn up. This game they tried to turn him into a pocket passer who sometimes ran when no reads were open or pressure showed up. Horrible mistake.
Ford will never be a pocket guy. They tried so hard in EDM. Never will work. Why not use what he is?
There should have been tons of looks with Rountree where you didn't know who had the ball and both guys ran. But nope, Ford was trying to be Dolegala. Dumb.

I don't think Milanovich has ever worked with a super mobile QB, they need to dig up some film on Damon Allen and Tracy Hamm instead of converting Ford into Ricky Ray.
