Title: Toronto game is it a road or home game?
Post by: GOLDMEMBER on July 06, 2026, 12:57:37 AM
Is the Argo home game here at Princess Auto?

Is this FIFA "home" game for the Argos?

Not included in my season ticket package?

Am I in the twilight zone?

It's on my STH "My Events" page.  Was discussed on one of the other threads last week, as I was confused too.

Only one practice this week, which is Wednesday and it's a closed practice. ZC8 will be a game time decision. But, I can see him sitting for Fridays game. Start Dru and give ZC8 the extra week.

so if this game doesn't sell out does the sellout streak still stay alive if we sell out the next home game?  Technically it isn't a home game so it shouldn't count right?

After discussion with Carol they weren't automatically included in the package, there was an option that we could either opt in for upon renewal or pass up.

I passed on them at the time, but I just bought them for Friday.

Thanks Goldie. I checked and we opted in. Looks like a nice night.

If it sells out, they will count it.  If it doesn't sell out...well Wade will probably say it technically isn't a Bombers' home game so the sellout streak will still be intact.

You serious Goldie?  I never made any decision on these tickets, but they are included in my season ticket package, and they are on my app.  So are we paying extra for the tickets for this game?

You'd think I'd be on top of this - I just show up when I see it's a game at home.

I'm sure you didn't pay extra. It sounds like you just opted in originally and paid for it originally for 2026.

It not I'm sure the club will fix it up for you.

That's interesting that they gave you the option.  I never got the option to opt out of the extra game, they just charged me upon renewal.  I even called to question why my tickets were so much more this season and they're response was that there an extra game this year, no indication that I could opt in or out.

Not that it matters I would have opted in anyway but odd how they have handled it different for you and probably others.

kinda strange there hasn't been communication around this.  maybe they can't because it isn't a home game?

can't see this one selling out although the forecast is great and it's a friday.

Ya, the comms is pretty bad if I didn't know before last week.  And there was zero chatter about it (the STH implications) on here around renewal time.  If it isn't mentioned on this forum, AFAIAC it didn't happen!

Why on earth not?  If most STHs automatically added it, then the bulk of people will be there, and the casuals probably have no idea what a "home" vs "TOR home @PAS" even is!  To them it's just a Bomber game is playing -- do you want to go?  ... as long as they know a game is on and that it's not in TOR!

It may differ based on you being a "B4L" member or not??

Now that's the correct attitude!  Heads we win.  Tails we win.

It won't even require much verbiage... just say "The Nth straight sell-out HOME game".  Not a home game, never happened (if we don't sell out).

My wife handles the Bomber calls, so she must have given the right answer.  Good wife!

Like there would be a Bomber game @PAS we all wouldn't want to attend? (Ignoring vacations, etc)  My wife knows better than that!

Huh wha?  We're still a struggling team, majorly struggled to beat even a QB-less HAM.  We didn't do really anything before Zach go injured.  Got kind of lucky our ground and ground-ish game was good enough and clearly wasn't planned for by HAM.

And we're opting for just one practice?  We need every practice legally allowed, and more!  I think every week you're allowed 3.  I understand that some weeks, like short weeks, you'd do 2.  But 1?  Is this Dickenson The Lesser taking the guys bowling when they are 1-6?

And heaven help us if Elgersma, or even Dru, is starting.  Those guys will need every last second to work on the book to have a hope of using more than 10% of it.

Does that actually mean they only have to show up for work one day this week?  If they have a light run thru the day before the game is that not considered a practice?

IF Zach isn't good to go, it makes the Dru vs. TE decision a no win.....no matter what they decide it will be second guessed by many and with only 1 practice.....I expect the same roster??? Maybe with Dru added???

If Zach is on IR, then Dru is added as 3rd QB is my guess.

Blue Bombers and Darren Cameron just posted ticket sales at 30,000 and counting.

They are also counting this as 17 in a row.

Worst part is we're now legally obligated to make noise when WPG is on O! Home crowd has to support the home team. Johnston said so

Rotfl. The funny thing is, I'm sure Argos club get a cut of sales... And I bet that cut will work out to more profit for Toronto than their normal home game!!

The stadium advertising is going to look different if what I heard about the last home Argo game is true. They'll either be covered up or plastered over with BMO ads all over the place.

As long as I don't see their logo on our field, I think I can live with that.

This one game might outdraw their entire season in TO...

Just kidding of course.

But seriously, from a revenue standpoint, every team should play their WPG home games in WPG...  would the fans ever get complacent with 18+ games a year here?

I'm skeptical you're really serious, but nevertheless an interesting question. I don't know about complacency, but indifference perhaps. Pro football is unique from other sports in that homefield/arena is a much more distinct advantage. People aren't stupid. If they know their team is handed such an unfair advantage creating a competitive imbalance, they will quickly lose interest.

Even this Toronto thing this year. While I understand why they had to do it and it's a one off short term thing, this game doesn't feel quite right to me. I much prefer what BC did.

It does make me think of the other sports like baseball and to a lesser extent hockey, however. Salary imbalance. Jets and Blue Jay fans understand that all too well.

Me too.  Except TOR fans don't really show up or support their team in normal home games, so screw 'em!!

I've met a few TOR fans at GCs ("every cup" type fans) and none of them have STs, and rarely go to games.  That's how bizarre their fan base is.

Quote from: bomb squad on July 08, 2026, 04:23:59 PMI much prefer what BC did.

Then we'd have to meet "half way", maybe in Thunder Bay?  So both fan groups can attend (ya, like TOR fans would ever drive West).  Problem with that is there's way less people with money around that area compared to inner BC!!  Probably wouldn't draw 5k from all 3 cities combined.

Like I said, I bet TOR is making more money off this than a home game, and they have near zero home field advantage in normal circumstances, so why not sell your team out to make a bigger/quicker/easier buck hosting in WPG?  Win-win!

I wouldn't!  If Jets fans can do like 50 games a year, surely we can do 18!!  ;)  ;)  ;)

If the Bombers win against Toronto (17th consecutive sell out) it should guarantee the next home game sell out.  We are definitely on a roll!
