Good: We limited Rankin better than any other team so far
Bad: Everything else
Ugly: Injuries
Good:
We did not throw in the towel.
We were in the game until the last minute after being initially down 17-0.
After the first half, we limited Rankin's production in the second half.
Zach Collaros performed well despite changes on the Oline.
Bad:
Falling behind 17-0
Missing 2 field goals (if made, arguably would have won the game).
Long Edmonton drives that killed the clock and resulted in Edmonton scores.
Turnovers.
Ugly:
The feeling I have of losing that game.
Younger has not improved at all as a DC. He needs to step back and let the BB find a real DC that knows how to stop drives.
Another good:
Quick payoff for the "set up" Condell was doing last 2 games. Quickest payoff I've ever seen for a setup... Lapo's would take like 15 weeks. And now we've used this chit, I can say what it was (but I'm sure you've sussed it out already):
The Perkin's 20Y "sneak". We had been putting Brady in motion crossing the LoS during sneaks. Never done that before. That was the setup. A D guy had to follow Brady across the line. Of course, Brady had nothing to do with the play. That was the setup.
So every opponent in film, including me, is waiting for that one time we'll hand off to Brady. So what does Condell do instead? He has Brady stop & 180 and lead block for Perkins to take it off the edge. That extra D guy is still running the wrong way and now out of the equation. Now no contain, and overloaded O on that side.
Brilliant stuff, and probably my play of the night. So much fun. Though, should I be disturbed that he felt he needed to cash this chip in this early in the season? Can't use this one again.
(Also, Condell had Brady crossing the opposite way of the setups, but that might have been a function of the hash -- or was it...?)
Another good:
Losing to EDM isn't the end of the world, even though they are divisional, because I don't think EDM will finish top-3 in the W. If we still have aspirations of winning the W (yes, it is possible, I'm not just crazy), we need to worry about the season series with SSK, BC & CGY. And EDM getting a good record to keep the W less lopsided will only help our goal.
Yes, EDM is better. But teams will figure them out. All they have is Rankin.
The gm didn't build the team up. They let wheatfall go to another team. They pick up White. They don't use another running back Need to use two quarterbacks. Glad they traded for Brown but didn't have to give up two first round picks. I don't think that was a great trade but they need Brown. Should never have traded him.. I would have put Perkins in for a couple plays in the third quarter or fourth quarter. The bad. Playing zone and letting them catch the ball in the middle of the field.
The Good
Dante Daniels, 51 yards recieving. Everyone thought he would just be a blocking TE.
Smith finally getting reps on defense.
The Bad
We play Hamilton next on the road.
Unknown extent of injuries last night and previously on 6 game IR.
Ceresna has been nursing an injury since TC and we may see him moved to 6 game IR as well.
The good
Vaval
Nichols
Marshall
2nd half d line
Bad
Fumbles (approaching ugly)
Youngers soft defense again
Vibert/Elsbury
Ugly
Two 90 yd drives, and one of them in the last 3 minutes again

Was that last drive 90 yards? IIRC it was shorter but they only needed a FG to win. Getting a TD just meant we now needed a TD to win.

No, he's a tight end that fumbles the ball!
good - defence in 2nd half at times, crowd made themselves heard, halftime singer was great, never heard of the guy but has a great voice.
bad/ugly- edmonton should have been able to run the clock down and kick a walk off FG - they botched that possession.
Officiating was bad - didn't cost any team the game but the many times they had to huddle to figure thigs out like the Edmonton TD was a joke
First half defence looked lost - literally didn't know where to go.
Losing two in a row at home - terrible...
offensive play calling - meh, not trying for a pass to the end zone and maybe getting a PI - dumb
turnovers
I think I saw a lot more good in this game than bad.
Good
The offence was rolling! Credit to Condell and Zach mostly.
Daniels stepping up and making some check down catches!
Great job from the special teams.
Defense tightening up in the second half.
Bad
That feeling of being up by a point with 4 minutes left in the game and you know we're about to bend but don't break our way into letting up a score.
Injuries to Ceresna and Pokey will be an issue. Hoping they are not long term...
UGLY
6 FUMBLES!!!! Perkins, Brady, Demski, Daniels, and Zach for sure all fumbled. We have to be tighter with the ball.

Marshall?

Maybe it was Holm. He had 9 TKLs

I suppose but Holm seemed a less likely error to Williams as far as number of letters in the name. That said, I don't know how he came up with Marshall in any practical sense.

Where do you get that? If I had to guess I'd say he was dinged late game 1 or early game 2.that would explain the massive drop off in effectiveness.
Not saying you're wrong, but sounds like you got a scoop somewhere.
