Keon Hatcher, Justin McInnis active for B.C. Lions' Kelowna clash with Calgary
by 3Down Staff June 26, 2026
The B.C. Lions will have both of their top two receiving weapons in the lineup when they face the Calgary Stampeders in Kelowna on Saturday.
Keon Hatcher Sr. makes his return after being a game-time scratch last week in Hamilton due to a hamstring strain. Canadian standout Justin McInnis remains available despite missing all three practice sessions this week with an ankle injury.
Hatcher led the CFL with 1,688 receiving yards on a career-high 102 receptions with nine touchdowns in 2025, earning All-CFL honours for the second time in his career. He made four catches for 64 yards in the Lions' season-opener.
McInnis is the Lions' leading receiver through two games, making 13 catches for 210 yards. He has been named All-CFL in back-to-back years, finishing with 76 catches for 1,256 yards and seven touchdowns in 2025.
Despite the positive developments in their ailing receiving corps, the Lions will be without do-it-all Canadian Kieran Poissant, who has been moved to the one-game injured list with a hip issue. Veteran Hergy Mayala, who was brought back this week after being released in training camp, will get the start. American rookie Jaden Williams has been returned to the practice roster.
Up front, B.C. will be without left guard Brandon Yates, who has been placed on the reserve roster after dealing with a hip injury. Josh Donovan has been activated early from the six-game injured list in order to take his place, while Canadian Alex Berwick will dress as additional insurance.
On defence, rookie Matthew Spatny will make his CFL debut following the release of veteran defensive end Sione Teuhema on Monday. Backup linebacker Terrence Ganyi has been removed from the roster, while veteran defensive back T.J. Lee is a game-time decision with a calf injury.
The B.C. Lions (0-2) will host the Calgary Stampeders (0-2) at the Apple Bowl in Kelowna, B.C., on Saturday, June 27, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EDT. The Stampeders are coming off an overtime loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, while the Lions got crushed by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
The weather forecast in Kelowna calls for a high of 23 degrees with a 70 percent chance of rain. The game will be broadcast on TSN in Canada, CBS Sports Network in the United States, and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune in on 770 CHQR in Calgary or 730 CKNW (English) or Sher-E-Punjab Radio AM 600 (Punjabi) in B.C.

Folarin Orimolade returning to Calgary Stampeders' lineup in Kelowna
by 3Down Staff June 26, 2026
Star pass rusher Folarin Orimolade will make his 2026 debut for the Calgary Stampeders on Saturday against the B.C. Lions.
Orimolade suffered a torn Achilles tendon in September. He returned to practice in Week 1, but was held out of the lineup as a precaution before this week.
The 30-year-old made 19 defensive tackles and four sacks over 12 regular-season games in 2025, his first season back in Calgary since he was reacquired via trade. In 78 career CFL games, he has made 124 defensive tackles, 11 special teams tackles, 30 sacks, two interceptions, and six forced fumbles, earning East Division all-star honours in 2023 with the Toronto Argonauts.
Orimolade takes the place of rookie Tre'Mon Morris-Brash, who was released earlier this week.
Despite the major addition to the defensive line, the Stampeders will have question marks elsewhere due to injuries in the secondary. Canadian cornerback Adrian Greene, who tied for the CFL lead in interceptions last season, has been added to the six-game injured list after missing practice this week with a knee issue.
University of Regina product Dolani Robinson, who made three starts last season as an undrafted rookie, has been activated off the practice roster and will start at field corner. Damon Webb is taking back over at safety, bumping Canadian Jackson Sombach into a backup role, and American rookie Zy Alexander will make his debut at boundary halfback. Anton Haie, a third-round pick in the 2025 CFL Draft, will dress for the first time as insurance.
American linebacker Moric Blackwell Jr. has been placed on the reserve roster this week, joining Canadian offensive lineman Tomas Jack-Kurdyla. Canadian receiver Vyshonne Janusas has been demoted to the practice roster.
The Calgary Stampeders (0-2) will visit the B.C. Lions (0-2) at the Apple Bowl in Kelowna, B.C., on Saturday, June 27, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EDT. The Stampeders are coming off an overtime loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, while the Lions got crushed by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

See, this is more fair than the Toronto situation. Somewhat neutral ground. Calgary people can still drive.

Nathan to Farhan after interview " that wasn't so hard was it"
stadium looks good. when you have bench seating you can pack them in
o canada version - not great IMO
Stewart Johnston gotta change the O Canada rules for next year now ;D
kinda want to see bc at 0-3
What is with the lions offence?
Defence we know isn't good, but the offence should be better than this.
terrible throw by Rourke
penalty before that play seemed really weak
Stamps tackling is quite bad
Count down to Dickensen getting angry and waving his arms
Its funny when TSN pumps the sell out crowd and tailgate going on in BC? Hopefully they don't forget Winnipeg has the best and loudest fans in the CFL. Wasn't surprised to see the rider fans not supporting their grey cup champs (and they comment on our attendance not being a sellout)
Ex-Bomber Josh Haggerty playing Safety for BC in place of injured Cristophe Beaulieu.
bc kinda sucks - looks good on "kid canada"
that calgary defence when healthy is pretty dominate
Buck is in tough at 0-3.

I quite like Rourke it's the rest of them I don't.
BC is missing 2 big recievers so they'll get better offensively, still, they are hardly a powerhouse even at 100%
Bucks not a head coach
Barely an OC
BC will live and learn
Wally is still alive looking for work

Same, he's the only player who had the nads to criticize the bogus changes marvelous stu wants to do, and he really gave it to him. He's ok in my books.

Benevides goes before Buck if he can't turn it around.

Ya, you're not going to win many games giving up 41 points. Offensively, they scored 25 points and threw for 462 yards without their 2 starting recievers!!, we can only dream of throwing for 462 yds, offensively they'll be fine, defensively, TJ Le and Peters were out, so they'll get better too. We have no one in our secondary that's hurt and our offense will never put up 462 yds passing, I m more worring about us than the Lions
Quote from: barbk on Today at 12:48:34 AMWasn't surprised to see the rider fans not supporting their grey cup champs (and they comment on our attendance not being a sellout)
Riderfans have NEVER "believed" our sellouts. They think some empty seats in the top 2 rows of East Side mean it's not a sellout.
I knew they'd say it about this last PAS game, so I took some pics of the Rum Hut late/mid 3rd Q. There's probably a thousand+ people in the N EZ concourse at any point during the game. And I specifically picked a time all the half-timers were back to their seats.
The last game was a weird one in that it appeared a few blocks of seats near me were going unsold (usually mostly full), but by halftime 3/4s were full. There must have been a ton of literal walk-ups to push us over the edge on the sellout.

I've been saying this since the chatter about Buck to HC started, like 2-3 season before he actually left here. However, it's only year 2 for him there, so he will have a moderate leash.

But Buck & the O have much better weapons. Everyone acknowledges the BC D is lacking firepower. If anything Buck should be fired first for underperforming expectations whilst Bene is basically matching expectations.
Then again, higher ups often love to blame & torch a scapegoat. Bene would make a superb scapegoat.

Well, if we had zero run game, and OC who never calls run, and a slinger who zips heaters that are always targeting 30-50Y downfield, it's easy to get 400+ passing!
Also, at least 125 of that was pure garbage time, so take the final number with a grain of salt.

He was still missing berry hill and cottoy, with those guys in the lineup he easily hits the 450 mark. He will shred our defense

This last game was puzzling to call the sellout! There were swaths of empty seats on both upper decks. "Sellouts" fail the eyeball test big time.
Maybe Princess Auto or some corp sponsor is buying up whatever is left.
Thursdays game looked min 1500 short of a sellout.
Lions are missing 2 top receivers and 2 top DB's, but it was the huge number of mistakes that lost them the game.

Injuries are hurting every team. Calgary was missing Begelton and Adrian Greene. As you mentioned the mistakes are the difference in many games so far.
McAllister is something else. Two return TD's in 2 games. That may have been the most significant turning point.
Lions scored a bit in garbage time to make it look closer than it was even though the stats favoured the Lions.

For sure. Calgary looked strong, boosted by McAllister, but when Begelton and Greene get back, look out. Same for the Lions. We lost to lowly Edmonton , so we are in a battle for 4 th spot in the west

It will be interesting to see what they do with Jermaine Jackson, they cut him once but I don't think they'll make the same mistake again, turns out he's one of the most dynamic small receivers in the league.
