Saskatchewan Roughriders to sit A.J. Ouellette against Argos
by 3Down Staff June 25, 2026
The Saskatchewan Roughriders will be without their top ball carrier when they face the Toronto Argonauts on Friday night.
A.J. Ouellette has officially been ruled out due to an ankle injury suffered in last week's victory over the Calgary Stampeders. The 30-year-old did not practice on either day this week and was listed as doubtful to play, though he has officially been placed on the reserve roster rather than the one-game injured list. That could allow him to be activated at the last minute in an emergency circumstance, though it is unlikely.
Ouellette has rushed 33 times for 153 yards through the first two games of the season, while catching three passes for 18 yards. He'll be replaced by rookie American Quali Conley, who has been activated off the practice roster for the first time.
The five-foot-ten, 211-pound ball-carrier finished his collegiate career at the University of Arizona in 2024, where he carried the ball 150 times for 745 yards and eight touchdowns, while adding 39 receptions for 245 yards and one score.
The Riders will also be missing starting Canadian receiver Dhel Duncan-Busby, who has been placed on the one-game injured list due to a shoulder issue. Former Regina Rams receiver D'Sean Mimbs will step into the starting lineup, with Saskatchewan Huskies alum Daniel Wiebe dressing as insurance.
Defensively, the team will have an additional National starter in the lineup, as Jonathan Edouard steps in at halfback following the Achilles injury to Juju Hughes. The American defender, who has been granted Canadian status after finishing his career at Carleton University, was signed by the Riders last week after spending four seasons with Toronto.
American rookie Seyi Oladipo Jr. will also dress as insurance in the secondary. Defensive tackle Devin Adams has been demoted to the practice roster, with Jaylen Pate coming on.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders (2-0) will host the Toronto Argonauts (1-1) at Mosaic Stadium on Friday, June 26, with kickoff scheduled for 9:00 p.m. EDT. The Argonauts are coming off a 44-24 win over the Ottawa Redblacks, while the Roughriders beat the Calgary Stampeders in overtime.
The weather forecast in Regina calls for a high of 25 degrees and sun. The game will be broadcast on TSN in Canada, CBS Sports Network in the United States, and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune in to TSN 1050 in Toronto or 620 CKRM in Regina.

Toronto Argonauts to start Anthony Wilson against Roughriders
by 3Down Staff June 25, 2026
The Toronto Argonauts have made one change to their starting lineup for Week 4, inserting American defensive back Anthony Wilson at safety. The team released its official depth chart on Thursday morning.
The 24-year-old signed with the Boatmen this offseason and was placed on the practice roster after training camp. This will be his first career regular-season CFL game.
The five-foot-nine, 191-pound defender spent two collegiate seasons at West Virginia, recording 182 tackles, three interceptions, and seven knockdowns. He transferred from Georgia Southern, where he notched 246 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and 23 knockdowns in 39 appearances. He was named third-team All-Sun Belt in 2021 and an honourable mention in 2020 and 2022.
Toronto's starting safety for their first two regular-season games was Robert Priester, though he recently announced that he's out for the year with a torn Achilles. The 32-year-old has played 47 career regular-season CFL games as a member of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Argonauts, and Ottawa Redblacks, recording 94 defensive tackles, eight special teams tackles, four forced fumbles, two sacks, and two interceptions.
The Argonauts have made two other changes to their lineup, activating Canadian receiver Tristan Ready and American defensive back Alex Teubner from the practice roster. In corresponding moves, American defensive lineman DeMarcus Johnson has been moved to the reserve roster and Canadian defensive back Ethan John to the one-game injured list.
Other players who remain out for Toronto include Canadian receiver Nolan Ulm, American offensive lineman Kendall Randolph, and American defensive lineman DeWayne Hendrix.
The Toronto Argonauts (1-1) will visit the Saskatchewan Roughriders (2-0) at Mosaic Stadium on Friday, June 26 with kickoff scheduled for 9:00 p.m. EDT. The Argonauts are coming off a 44-24 win over the Ottawa Redblacks, while the Roughriders beat the Calgary Stampeders in overtime.

Poor TOR. Having some of your "home" games in WPG and SSK, against WPG and SSK, is the worst thing in the world. Maybe closely followed by @HAM -- do they have one of those too?

Attendance in Toronto is so low they may get a bigger piece of the pie in Regina.

Depends how it's structured. Who knows how much cut, if any, they are giving Toronto.
I still don't know if we get Toronto home game at pas for free. Was that worked into our sth prices? So tor sths got that game refunded from theirs? Please someone answer because if I need to buy my seat individually for that game I need to know now!

We were charged more for this year for the extra game. I don't think we'll ever be told what the cash split was between WPG and TOR

Was that told to us somewhere? Don't recall in my STH info. I'm B4L and basically just forget about it all and pay whatever the CC says to each month. My point being I don't pay as much attention to this stuff as I should.
Maybe offset by the missing home playoff game last season?
So does that mean the 2027 ST prices will actually go DOWN? *Especially* if we don't have a home playoff again?

I was talking to my ticket rep on the phone the year prior about a separate issue and he had asked me if it was ok. I got the impression that they'd be asking everyone and he had just taken that opportunity but maybe not.
I certainly don't remember reading anything about it that was sent out.

Yikes, I hope they didn't change my subscription based on some hazy phone convo! My wife handles those calls as my work schedule makes day calls difficult. She wouldn't know an "Argo home game" from a "Gucci hand bag". ;D ;D
I'll check to see if I have that game in my STH account page...

10 home games this year. It's the same for everyone.
Oullette out. He was pretty beat up last game. Then again, after every run he always gets up looking like he's about to die. Conley (IMP) in. No idea who he is.
Busby out. Didn't see him get injured? Finally giving up on him? Mimbs in instead. No idea who he is. Weibe backing up Emilus, meaning they have 2 Weibes on the team now (both sides) -- perfect for Saskatchewan! Now all they need is a Friesen.
TOR is massively better on paper... and yet, until proven otherwise, SSK has the edge, especially at home.
Uh, no one is watching football tonight? I'm just starting q2. No spoilers!
Just wanted to say there is basically no one at mosaic. What on earth is going on!!!?? I've never seen it so dead.
SPOILERS
...
What the heck happened to SSK? They came out completely flat from KO, and never really looked alive. It was like THEY were going into a bye and they were named WPG -- and yet no bye for them next week. Seriously... if I was Mace I'd be ripping them a new one for that no-effort disgrace.
"Hit Trevor once or twice and Bad Harris shows up". Yup. That's majorly true. I hope we put max pressure on him to get some good whacks early in when we face them. Even if it costs 15, it's worth it. He's even worse than before.
Without Oullette, no one honored the run. Because it stunk. Maybe it'll last until the week after the week after LDC...
I bet the Rider forum was so happy at all our fumbles vs EDM. Turnabout is fair play. The problem with the short pass game to rookies is they'll cough up the ball. That cost them the game. They have 2 Johnsons on O -- without differentiated nameplates -- and it was the no-name Johnson that fumbled. But even the vet "great hands --Tecno" Kesean whiffed a couple of times. Embarrassing!
Using Emilus when Letcher got injured was just stupid. What's stupider than using your star returner on O? Using your star O on returner. Now Emlius has a busted up ankle. Maybe it'll take until after the BB to heal! Duncan-Busby here we come!
Anything that makes SSK lose is a good thing. So I'll eat the pick'em and celebrate the schadenfreude.
Where was the crowd? Except the between-the-40s on the home side, the place was dead. The few shots of the upper deck and it looked 80% empty. Surely there aren't that many soccer fans wanting to see South Sudan vs Sri Lanka go 0-0? Has Johnston miffed off that many greenies in their "GC Celebration" season?
@Tecno a Rider receiver ran into a DB again and Toronto got the DPI penalty.
You think that was another designed play?

Yes, I do, I thought so from when Oulette did it the previous game as it was second and long and Oulette deliberately ran into the opposing DB and immediately looked for the flag as did Trevor Harris. This definitely was a strategy that we should also be doing until they change the rule. To me the DB should be allowed to hold his ground and if the O player runs into him then no foul.
chad kelly while a sub par human might be the best qb in the CFL - top 3 for sure.

I think Bo, Harris, Alexander and Rourke are all better but yes a strong case could be made for top 3 (Harris's stock is currently high due to GC imo), Kelly could be best, maybe in a couple years.
Throws a fantastic ball, is durable and has good mobility. Too bad he couldn't learn from his past mistakes and become a good person. Unchecked male ego is a scary thing at times.
That was a fun game to watch, but I don't see us beating either team.
Watching two defences play aggressive, hustle to the ball, play extremely physical, just showed me more how ours is not good enough to compete this year.
It was a good game, and yes Chad had/has personal issues, but as a QB he has looked great this year so far.

Agreed, I dunno if it's just me but the other teams seem to have a quickness and intensity that the Bombers lack.
And Kelley does look closest to NFL caliber QB in CFL right now, for better or worse ..... meaning pocket passer who doesn't just throw it within .5 seconds of snap

if he wasn't a tool with his name he would be on an NFL PR.

The more I watch other teams, the more I'm convinced we're not making the playoffs this year. Was a mistake to re-up Walters and O'Shea for another 3 years. Misplaced loyalty by wade IMO, based more on past accomplishments, and ignoring the recent deterioration in the team over the past several years.

Toronto will kill us, Kelly will fillet our defense. Sask with their dink and dunk lame offense, we can beat that
