I think even non-Nascar fans have heard of this man and have heard of his sudden, sad, and shocking passing. As this is a still emerging story, thought I'd start a thread for people to provide any updates they have heard or if they just want to comment. For me, it's a stark reminder of how you can't ever take your youth and health for granted.
Severe pneumonia was given as the cause for his death. Evidently, he was coughing up blood the day prior to his passing.
These guys need to believe they are invulnerable to drive a 1.5 ton machine at 200mph inches from each other and the walls.
So, a sinus cold or some other infection is not an issue that this kind of guy would find as a threat. That it progressed to pneumonia and then to sepsis rapidly is unfortunate.
As bombsquad said, it is important to not take your health for granted, and attend to issues as they present.
