November 7! I believe thats the earliest date for a Grey Cup game.
So whats the plan? Start the season another week earlier or remove one of the bye weeks?
Eastern Canada getting a raw deal?

Odd about the date being so early. Playing regular season in May, training camps in April?
SSK is a good GC locale choice, though might be as cold as '22. These 2 years will save us WPG all-GC-goers big money, as no flights required.
Plus, SSK gambling on their team remaining top-tier and hoping for a home GC appearance. I promise you they will go all-in and way over cap in FA26 to make it happen (cough cough).
Plus plus, this takes the pressure off them to make it to and win the cup this year. If they get eliminated or lose they can just point to this announcement and say "don't be blue, we'll win it at home in '26". Brilliant marketing -- covering all the angles.
Just don't run out of hot food in the upper deck in the 3rd Q like you do every single big game, eh SSK!

So the Commish confirmed that the season will be starting a week earlier.
Now what happens to the CFL draft date? Do they hold it be before the NFL draft or during training camp?
Not many options for playing out East right now.
Ottawa is renovating their stadium next year, the Big O is currently being renovated, Hamilton hosted twice in the last few years. Toronto's stadium will have some upgrades by then but who knows what their plans are for hosting.
OK I'm going to say it .. Having the game there is the only way Regina will see the Grey Cup.
Again!
wasn't it just there? :D

Yup, 2022. Tickets were selling cheap. Plenty of empty seats. The last thing they wanted was to watch the Bombers and Toronto play. :D

It wasn't that cold. I remember it was cool, but manageable.

Then you were lower bowl, or on the non-wind side of the upper deck. We had the wind coming at us from ahead and to the right, right in our faces, all game. It was brutal. Waaaaay colder than the '15 IGF GC. I'd say even colder than the '18 Mosaic WSF which had no wind but was cooold.
I think the on-paper temp was -13 or something? But I swear it felt like -25C. It only hurt for the first half, by the second I had lost all feeling in my hands, feet, and face: so then it was just peachy. Yes, I dressed for -13C... but I should have brought my ice fishing -30C gear instead. I won't make that mistake again.

Fine by me. However, further hinting that everything that's happening is all about appeasing the US market. This allows us to sell CFL for even more non-NFL weeks. It's not a dumb move.

I was there, it was pathetic as there was swaths of empty seats. They don't deserve it back so soon. Not even close.

Cup is being held in Calgary next year, so I think you mean 2027 Sask goes all in which Bombers should have done this season.

You are correct... and that explains my brain dissonance where I could have sworn CGY was the next up cup! LOL
So SSK is doing what we did and waiting just a tad too long and they'll probably have a monster '26 then a mediocre '27. It's the CFL way!
(Guess I should have read the OP title more carefully...)
Oh and, smaller field, smaller endzones, and goal post at the back that year. It should make it MUCH more exciting.
::) ::)

Well, at least it'll be a brand new $1.5M turf. That will probably guarantee SSK posts a loss that season. Hey wait, maybe they are taking the GC game in order to try to offset that loss! Actually not a dumb idea...
