I thought I read something about him being listed as a " DB " and getting some work at safety? He strikes me as a little big for a safety he's only 12 lbs heavier than Loffler.
The actual roster and depth chart have him listed at WIL, so it's just a thought. OTOH lots of reports on how well Avery is playing at safety and Parker is no slouch either.

Don't think so, Shay is a very physical player better suited to LB than running around trying to cover receivers.

I believe that was a tweet about him lining up at DB in practice. It could have been a single rep for all we know. I wouldn't too much into it. Might have been rep stealing, might have jumped in after someone walked off, might be practice for when he's in coverage.
I didn't watch him today, how did he play? Did he get many reps.

Pretty sure it was Shay in on one nice hit/play? I have trouble keeping him and Allen separated in my mind. From what I saw today, they look like the same player from afar.
How about trying Shay at dime and Kramdi at safety, that gives you two nats

That was Smith.

If the assessment is that Shay isn't a true cover guy, then he shouldn't be at SAM. I think his role will take awhile to determine but he's a talented plaeyr.
He's a young rookie linebacker. Keep him on Teams and spot duty this year. Next year he could be in the run for a starter spot.
