Title: Stanley Bryant - the bromance continues?
Post by: Tiger on November 27, 2024, 03:04:12 AM
Bryant is the best offensive lineman ever to play in Blue and Gold, and possibly the best ever to play in the CFL.  Smart, big, strong and like all of us getting older.

While some may wince at this as Chris Walby had a long and outstanding career, he did not have years of never being mentioned and won 2 outstanding CFL lineman of the year awards.  Bryant has 4, often in the mix, western and cfl all star.

Thank you Calgary for letting him come here. That was your mistake and our gain.

Unsung and not often mentioned, he has quietly become a legend.  While he clearly lost a step or two, he is still better than 90-95% of the linemen in the CFL.

While I don't like the use of the word dynasty or agree, clearly this has been one of the Blue Bombers golden ages, up there with the Bud Grant run. Bryant has been a big part of that.

Stanley turns 39 in May.  I hope he wants to play for us next year and has a healthy year of pancaking.

Thanks and see you next year Stanley.

I believe Stanley Bryant wants to play again next season and wants to play with the Bombers.  He indicated that following the 2024 Grey Cup loss.

He's indicated multiple times that he's coming back. I haven't felt this sure he'd be returning in a couple of years.

Bryant will absolutely be back for 2025.

If he wants back and his body can keep gaming, then we take him back.  From a puzzle piece perspective he's never been one of the "problems", so as such you don't fix what ain't broken.

I assume it'll be an easy signing at around the same $ as usual, with maybe an inflation bump.

I'm very proud of all the hoggies for how they out-performed in the GC against the best DL; a DL that creamed them a few weeks earlier.

I heard that too.  I picture him and ZC retiring at the same time.  I hope some plan is in place for their replacements.  They will be hard to replace.

Yes they will be. They are 2 big, important pieces to the offensive puzzle. I see us going to the FA market to replace them

Often told we are too old, this guy is too good.

I just hope Stanley's health holds up. He did have a pretty serious setback this year. He's going against young guns every play, often used in rotation, that takes a toll on a guy, especially at 39

He had a heck of a game in the GC.  Did anyone get anywhere near beating him even once?

Against that DL, that's saying something!
